I come from So. Cali....Earthquake zone. I've experienced my fair share of them, but I'm telling you, the sight of a tornado headed my way would terrify me far worse. A well built home can handle quite a bit of shaking, but one of these things lands on you and all the debris they can pick up and shoot out at you like a missile.....I can't begin to imagine. Happy to hear that those of you who experienced this are alive and well and much sadness for those who weren't as fortunate.

@@SallyGreimes I left So. Cali some years ago and moved to WA. Now living in Oregon near Mt. Hood. We have a major fault line here, but what's on the ground, STAYS on the ground. We had a (very) small twister a few years back, but it barely got a mention on the evening news. Besides that, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The beauty of the Pacific Northwest is beyond words. I'll live with the dormant volcanoes and possible EQ. Can't imagine getting sucked up into one of those monster tornado's. Take care my neighbor to the North!

They are no joke! We took a direct hit in Dunlap, IN, in 1965. It was an EF4 double tornado. I was 10. We were ok, only because we ran to neighbors' basement. Lost the neighbor's mother, and my best friend who lived across the tracks. I'm 70 now and still have nightmares about it. Could not afford to buy a house with basement, when I was older, so if I get hit again I probably won't live through it.

Absolutely terrifying. I’ve never even seen a tornado in real life with my own eyes. Something like this? A MONSTER

Wow, I'd love to see one up close but be somewhere safe & when I'd seen enough then return home after my vacation is over! That's crazy to be driving & trying to watch which way the tornado is going. 😮 I always say a prayer when I see them on the News hoping everyone had a safe place to retreat too. ❤ Ontario, 🇨🇦 🐾

People gotta remember a lot of cars driving towards it are probably driving home. Would you turn away from your home when there’s that big of a tornado?? If so then idk what to even say.

Like something from the movie. And all these cars just driving on down the road like no big deal. Must be the same people trying to get a selfie with a wild bison in Yellowstone park 😂

I love how people in those plain states just go about their business when they see something like that. If that happened in New York where I’m from, you would see people jumping off of skyscrapers thinking the world was coming to an end.

So many people taped this. I think I would be driving away, quickly. You can't always tell when it begins to move in your direction soon enough. I grew up in Chicago, and experienced some very scary Tornados. When I was older I learned to hit the flat ground when we were outdoors. I moved to California when I was 18. The earthquakes are unnerving, but there is not the anticipation you get with Tornadoes.
@terrywade3696
@terrywade3696 3 ай бұрын
Krystalcoast: Yeah, earthquakes don’t have as much anticipation because YOU DON’T HAVE ANY WARNING THAT THEY’RE COMING! Im from Tornado Alley and I prefer the tornado warnings! I have time to find shelter! There’s NO SHELTER from earthquakes! AND, AND, AND, NO WARNING!

For anyone confused about the cars: they are most likely storm chasers who are in it for the kicks or are keeping track of it so they can report to the neaby weather stations and police departments to help keep everyone safe. Also it is more dangerous to be pulled over and parked than it is to keep driving. You're more likely to be hit by debris, or have it change directions and you take longer to get out of there than it is to just keep going. Of course the last bit is situational, some move at speeds or are at a size you just can't outrun. Ryan Hall said on one of his streams that a lot of cops that end up pulling his storm chasers over for speeding watch his streams because it keeps them informed and helps get the word out how dangerous that twister is or who is in danger.
