Quite a quick painting! This was inspired by a long video I had just finished making for my Patreons! I really love the bright horizon line from the raw sienna and the incidental detail on the horizon line that I didn't paint but just appeared!
Paper:
This was painted on a full sheet of Rives BFK etching paper, 56cm x 76cm, 280gsm, white, 100% cotton by Arches
Paints:
Paynes Grey
Alizarin Cimson Permanent
Raw Sienna
Prussian Blue
Brushes:
4 Inch Hake Brush
Butter soft lid for the card swipe
Pure Kolinsky Round Sable Size 12 for adding in the raw sienna after the card swipe
1 Inch Hake Brush
Tissues to lift out a light

Rives BFK etching paper. Probably best to source this from your local store so you can look after the paper and not have it posted unless you are buying a large amount of paper and it will be looked after. There is nothing worse than getting hundreds of sheets all with a indent in them. Having said that you can actually source this paper from amazon:

Some people have been extremely happy with the state of the paper when it arrived (and some not!)
I love this paper it is soft and lights are lifted easily from it.

Love this one, especially the colors. I'd like to know if you ever have done a studio tour and how you set up your workspace. It looks like you have a lot of space to spread out. I'd also like to know if you've ever painted on a hot pressed black watercolor paper. I was given some 9x12 arches hot press black watercolor paper for Christmas and there's not much on the internet that I can find. Would you be interested in demonstrating painting on black watercolor paper? I'm loving your videos.

Hi Suzan! I did a studio video ages ago and have since changed things around a bit. It is not the most massive studio! Of course I would like a larger space with lots of natural light but I am also really grateful to have a permanent studio which for many years I did not have! I have never painted on hot pressed black watercolour paper! I know JMW Turner used to use tinted papers and then use guache to paint landscapes onto in a very skilled way! They are amazing to see! I might be able to get hold of some from my local art store and have a go but I don't think it would be something i would use regularly as I love light and skies and it would be hard with mostly transparent watercolours to do that! Let me know how you get on! cheers scott

Hi Pragya! Thanks! I use mostly Winsor and Newton Artist Quality watercolours but I I am sure I will branch out a bit over the next year or so to try some DS or other brands!
