The Dali collision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge clean up effort made a significant lift of the debris on Sunday. The salvage group Donjon Marine removed the largest section of the bridge to date with the Chesapeake 1000 crane. The Bridge Collapse Site is presenting incredible challenges, but Baltimore Harbor is expected to be reopened by the end of May.

I work construction. We used cranes with 3 and 400 foot booms. They used 12 or more semi trailers sized concrete counter weights on the back of the winch house. Some of those cranes in the video could have lifted the weights to be put on the biggest crane we used.

Greetings from the west coast! I'm a crane "junkie" and love watching these cranes position and do their work. A mechanical ballet! On land this would be difficult to cut, separate and move, now put this on water and you have an entirely different set of variables to work with. True professionals. Nice to see! Hopes for continued safe work conditions and a valuable lesson in protecting our delicate infrastructure! One suggestion is for a wind sock for your microphone on those windy days.🙂

I would like to know how the engineers decide where to make the cuts on the debris to prevent shifting of the structures while they're removing pieces. I know weight determines some size restrictions, but if you move the wrong piece at the wrong time you create a dangerous situation.

But now it's time to recognize the ongoing efforts of the crews who man the cranes, the tugs, all of the support boats, the divers and their support crews, the NTSB, USCG, USN, ACE, et al. They too are no less heroes going into harm's way. God Bless them and keep them safe from harm.

I am in awe at the skills of all of these people, & they did it w/out having to study the situation for 6 months. The engineers, the boat captains/pilots, crane operators, people on the ground & on the ships---it makes me pretty proud (not that we're the ONLY country that could do this---but I'm proud that we can!). This is like watching that t.v. show Highway Through Hell---you are watching someone do the impossible! I've never watched your channel before, it just popped up, but I would definitely watch more & would love more detailed explanations of the equipment & exactly what they are doing, at least, when you can tell!

We thank you for this high-quality, dedicated, recorded historical effort. I say this in the here and now, and on behalf of America's great, great grandchildren whom shall have the privilege of watching this a century from now. The years pass very quickly, though 9/11 is forever etched in our hearts and minds, we meet the now grown infants who have no direct memories. With each generation, a part of the American spirit is every day citizens stepping up, facing the challenges, building for our future. May we thank the homeowner for their generous hospitality. For consideration, with the homeowner's permission, perhaps some time lapse recorded filmography of the new bridge to come. One doesn't wish to wear one's welcome out, perhaps a few hours per week, being respectful, of privacy. I'm sure the kids enjoy the speeded up time lapse, as do adults with families to take care of. Great work, by land, and sea.
