I grew up watching Que Pasa USA and even own the DVD set! But it's not a parody of it- it's essentially comedy based on my real life growing up Cuban in Miami.

Yeah, Laritza did a really bad job at opening the store. (But trust me, as we learned while shooting this, a Closed sign does not stop all people from trying to come inside.)

That store doesn't look like it sells lingerie but it definitely looks like it probably sells a golden leopard-print bikini or 1 piece swinsuit for Maruchi's fun beach date with Marcos. In Maruchi and Marcos's mind their date would turn out sexy, meanwhile seeing Maruchi at the beach for me would be cringey; Marcos on the other hand would look as daddy as a young Ricky Martin, which means way more daddy than today's Ricky Martin

Maruchi would would be SLAYIN’ in a leopard print bikini or one piece! Gloria would wear something more conservative but still stylish and high quality. Flor however would just wear a regular one piece bathing suit for average suburban moms with a sweater wrapped around the waist and maybe a pair of ladies’ swim trunks or boy shorts for extra modesty. 🤣
