Every time I see this video I am reminded of how blessed we all are by having Larry Carlton aboard our planet! Man, what else can you say? Unreal, simply unreal!

I saw Larry play at a guitar store in San Jose with his keyboardist. Just a few people there. He didn’t have his own amp, but still sounded the same. The man has such great feel.

Tone, taste, technique. A terrific treat for the ears and this is live, no post-production trickery. Larry is more than a virtuoso, he's a guitar god and his talent for arrangement of harmonies made him a go-to person for Steely Dan. Need I say more? Judging by the thumbs down it looks as though amoeba have worked out how to click a mouse.

Larry Carlton,probably the very best American guitar player ,in the best sense of term ! ...technique,style,tradition,roots,etc....! but you know, there are other hundreds guys out there,that deserve respect......

Man, every time I hear this I get goose bumps, and I feel so good, who needs depression meds!! Just get Larry's music, all's well again!!! LOL!!!

At 2:52 Larry gives you the wonderful chills,, he alone has done that to me since 1978!!!

Love Larry and that sax player would have to be one of the best I've ever heard.

From about 2:52 through his beautiful solo,, you can see the sublime "smile" of satisfaction on Larry's face,, it's him giving himself that "Nod of satisfaction" for hitting it just right! What a superb player he is.

This guy is awesome! For those who don't know, this was his first album out after being attacked and stabbed in his home. He came home from a late night jam session and interrupted a burglary in his own home. The suspect stabbed him multiple times, and Larry was told he would never play guitar again. This guy is AMAZING, and this is one of my favorite tunes.

Its nice to see young people enjoying larry carlton, his music moves people in a good way! Take care!

All heck breaks loose between 3:33 ~> 3:44 !! I love how Larry always tucks his left elbow into his hip ... and always seems to favour his first and middle finger when playing. Also his hand positioning never ever looks like what my guitar teacher told me I needed to adopt. Interesting.

This is why Larry has over 100 Golds, who else sounds like this,, can anyone tell me??? LOL!!!

@jjp4mma thanks!!! truth be told, I went through some very difficult times, a divorce and other nice stuff,, and literally speaking, Larry's music had very much to do with my keeping hold of what sanity there was!!! There is no other guitarist, other than maybe Robben Ford, that makes you feel GOOD, and 100% of Larry's music is positive, not a negative vibe at all! Take care, nice to know other people feel the same way! Peace to you!

Kind of weird seeing "Mr. 335" playing a low-end Les Paul Studio. Just goes to show that it's not the instrument, but the player that matters! Play on, LC! You and "Captain Fingers" Lee Ritenour are two of the best in the genre.
