Larry and Carri Williams believed that adopting children would be a great way to their conservative christian family. Unfortunately, their method of discipline ended up being child abuse that would turn out to be deadly.

Unbelievable that CPS left the others until REPORTS of abuse came out directly pertaining to them. Never mind that a child already died highly suspiciously and painfully in their care. This country hates women and children, and these international adoption agencies know it. They should be called child trafficking agencies if we're being honest. The U.S. is the only 1st world country where "re-homing" adopted kids without any official documentation is legal too. 🤬

The Pearls wrote an article on this condemning the actions of these people. And there is no record of the Williams purchasing any of their books on their business records. It's entirely possible it was bought at a yard sale. Also, all 5 of his children are doing really well. I don't live in the same country as the pearls just for the record. But throughout their materials on their website (with many articles written by their adult kids) they condemn this kind of behaviour. Hana was probably traumitise. And needed love, patience and understanding. They obviously had no idea how to raise her.

Blaming this on religion is terrible, just like blaming terrorism on religions is. Some people simply use religion to look good while doing terrible things in the name of it. Bad people are bad people, they use whatever they can get ahold of to justify being terrible. This woman and her husband deserve far worse than "burning in hell". They deserve far worse than what hell can offer. The only reason they pretended to be religious was to try and make themselves look superior to others, and the only reason they adopted kids was to try and make themselves look superior to others. People like them should be locked away in isolation, in an underground hole, where they only get 2 meals a day and zero human contact even with the guards They should have to beg and do humiliating things for their meals and water and showers as well. But we can't do stuff like that, honestly, because it would just turn the people guarding them into monsters, too. I really hope there is something similar to hell, though.. just not what is described by religions. Everyone knows deep down if they're a good person or a bad person, even if they've made mistakes. I just wish the people who constantly do bad on purpose aren't housed with the good people when we all die.. and that people who are truly evil are housed all by themselves where they can never harm other people ever again.

Amen to that. As a practicing Christian, I despise these people. It's this small demonic minority that gives everybody a bad name. I'll never understand how people like this espouse a religion that is supposed to have love, peace, understanding, empathy, and forgiveness at its very core while denying an innocent child even the bare basics and dignity they need to live. If my kid is hungry, whatever I have is hers. When she was a toddler, I gladly let her grab stuff off my plate even though she always had her own. I let her drink from my cups (unless it was something not good for her like really strong coffee/energy drinks). I tucked my coat around her once when the weather turned stormy and cold because she was cold or I'd zip her up against my chest to keep her warm. I've worked really horrible, crappy jobs with abusive bosses in order to keep caring for her. That's what a real parent does. Not what those terrible people did. And no matter how tired, fed up, sick, ect... I get, I always forget it for a moment when I see her smile and hear her "MOMMY!" when she sees me.

@@wraithreaper22 Actually that's not what I said. And if you are going to start a statement with "No disrespect" be so kind as to continue on in that vein. Its sad isnt it, and all to common. What type of sorry excuse for a human being behaves cruelly to anyone let alone a child or children & has no difficulty looking at themselves in the mirror. Maybe somebody obsessed with exactly that behaviour, a person so narcissistic, selfish & ignorant that nobody matters but them. But more than that its some form of sociopathic behaviour. Emotional disconnect bigtime. Sometimes we need to go looking for those stories about people doing decent things simply because they get more pkeasure helping others or animals etc. Giving rather than taking taking taking. The guy that invented the polio vaccination gave it away for free. I think another persons name is Fred Hollows, he has a foundation, he dedicated his life to giving free eyecare to those that couldnt access it, specifically treating Glaucoma. We should always publicise & harshley deal with those abusers in our society that prey upon the most vulnerable within it. Cruelty & lies thrive in indifference & ignorance. Dishonesty prefers shadows, honesty encourages the light.

@@hillarybillary21 these are the type of parents who decide to have kids thinking it will bring their progressively more combative relationship closer. Kids as an accessory. A living, eventually walking talking dolly as a tribute to a whim. Having any awareness of the actual, real, awesome responsibility they should have firstly honestly considered is an idea so far over their heads it's a rocketship far beyond the moon. Some people are ignorant, some people lack feelings and emotions, some people enjoy cruelty & are inadequate sadists. But anybody that abuses children loses any right to sympathy in my book & invites the harshest treatment society can deliver. I could eliminate a pedophile & sleep like a baby. Society is all to slow & lacking an unequivocal intolerance to the mistreatment or indifference toward children. We are improving but far too many children still don't receive the love, caring & attention they should. If your child may not be your number 1 priority all their life until legal adulthood don't have a child. It's not a child's fault if a parent is more inclined to self interest. The more society lacks community, family, parents having enough time & money without need of a miracle then how can we expect improvement? We accept less connection with our children & are outraged when children don't care about the results of their actions. They become unfamiliar with genuine caring so don't know how to return or provide it.

@@patmygroin ….I had to stop watching it for a few seasons because I found myself depressed that such evil people exist. The one that finally did me in was a baby boy that the dad didn’t think was his so didn’t concern himself with, and a mom who put him in a swinging chair in a back bedroom that was stifling hot. And ‘remembered’ 9 days later that he was in there. Of course he was dead. And the flies laid eggs in his poopy diaper, which became maggots that were feeding on him. That was a few years back and I am only now catching up but about ready to give it a break again.

As soon as the family started being described as fundamentalist religious homeschooler isolationists I knew exactly where this was going. BTDT and was raised by similar people with similar attitudes, many of whom adopted 'unfortunate' children to 'save' them. I have no contact and haven't since I was old enough to leave. Ugh. I can't fathom looking at those little faces and doing things like this. I just can't.

Yes. These type of people seem absolutely determined to have everybody live as close minded, uneducated, unsocialised, afraid & ignorantly as themselves. They need to have somebody preach to them how to treat people or how to behave acceptably on a daily or weekly basis because its so much beyond them for it to be ingrained to treat all people with consideration. Parents are our defacto managers & leaders. Decent ones know its easier to lead a shoelace than to push it. Create & provide an example your children would be proud to emulate. How many do? One of the most important things parents can offer their children....their ears. Parents sometimes need to listen to how their children actually feel about the world they occupy. Thats my two cents ...ummm, maybe my 98¢.lol

Meet my ex-boss. Nine kids ("Quiverful,") and eight of them were normal and acceptable. The ninth was, of course, the scapegoat who was incapable of doing anything properly. Having met the family, said ninth was actually the least damaged, strongest, and most likely to GTFO. I actually showed some attention to a few of the kids and they latched onto me like small, adorable ticks. Honestly, families like that--where positive attention is rarely heard-of--all those kids are potential victims. They'll head for any attention like a beacon just got lit, positive or negative. And our boss led the team just like that, not realizing that most of us had much more healthy backgrounds or, if we really didn't (as in my case), we'd learned better since and reacted even more negatively to poor handling and weren't going to tolerate his abuse. That was one bridge I didn't burn when I left...I nuked it and watched the radioactive fallout with glee.

I live in the town where this happened. It was infuriating to be so close to such a tragic, abusive situation. There are more families in the area who adopt multiple children from African countries and I've heard about more abuse first-hand. It becomes a status symbol for these people. I had an adopted young Ethiopian man stay at my home for awhile after he turned 18 and he described a very harsh, cult-like home life as a young child. This was before Hannah was so tragically murdered. There really shoukd be red flag laws for multiple adoptions and very frequent checkups on ANY adopted child. Hannah did not deserve this treatment in any way. So incredibly sad.

My mom is a foster kid who was in the care of the Catholic Guardian Society. she was in and out of their care through her entire childhood and teen years. She was regularly abused emotionally, physically, and s.a. while being in foster homes. Her last bad foster home was at the age of 13 years-old old when an Irish couple from Staten Island foster her. She had 11 siblings who were also foster kids. All of them were non-white and had disabilities. The foster couple had their one biological child and my mom made child number thirteen. The foster parents were given an expensive home to live in and some 10k plus in foster care funds. Having 13 kids even back in the 70s was still expensive. Just as expected, these foster parents abused every single foster child. This went on for a couple of years until the old case worker had left and a new one took over. My mom told me she was a black woman who thought it was kind of odd that a couple who previously had only one child with no disabilities would take in 12 more none white childern with disabilities. That all the foster kids had no updated records of doctor visits. The case worker showed up without calling first. She immediately had every single foster child seen by a doctor. All 12 including my mom were severely suffering from malnutrition and were being physically abuse. It would take another year for the case worker to successful reassign new foster parents and kick out the old foster family. When the case worker ask the previous parents why they abuse them (foster kids.) The father repsonse was "who else is gonna give a damn about a bunch of n-word kids." If it wasn't for that case worker actually caring about the well being of my mom and her other 11 foster siblings. I think most of them would had died and Catholic Guaridian Society would have swept it under rug.

@@alwaysthelovesongs I watched maybe a couple of Duggar episodes and they had me screaming at the TV/computer screen. There were so many other red flags going on that I saw as well. For starters, the mom and dad weren't actually raising all these kids--the older ones were raising the younger ones. They had all these weird rules about boys and girls not being alone together even though they were brother and sister (as you said, that worked out SO well), restrictions on media, restrictions on clothes, ect....ect... it just came across as really cultish to me. I'm autistic and I went through a phase where my special interest was cults. Even though I'm not very good with social rules, a lot of this stuff was just weird even to me.

Hell yeah. Bedtime video Edit: 15 minutes in. I feel too disgusted at these "parents" to sleep peacefully. A grim reminder that a lot of laws we have today- especially those pertaining to the safety and wellbeing of children- have been written in blood from past incidents. But cases like these will always continue to repeat themselves. Its a shame

I am feeling the same way all I constantly hear in these stories is how this happened again ? How can we stop this from happening again? After every case, it's so ridiculous and heart wrenching it keeps good people from adopting it all seems like it can be easy to stop if people did their jobs and people opened their mouths like her friends what in the hell is wrong with these people to hang out with a woman like this sorry I wrote an essay lol

How can any human treat another this way? Idk if I’m more sad than infuriated! Cases like this one makes me wish our society believed in an eye for an eye! This mom should be locked out in the cold, fed gruel (if that), and tortured the way she tortured this poor girl!

It's great to see you! I get tired of CONSERVATIVE being confused with PRESERVATIVE. God has no hands in organized religions that rely on "keeping up appearances." All they do is hide psychopathy. They imported a child to kill her.

@@amandapanda5877 those sort of losers only associate with like minded close minded ignorant hypocrites, too scared & too fixated to be able to live without being reminded on the correct way to interact with other humans on a daily basis. Even then they failed miserably. Unfortunately the more society places wealth, fame & materialism on a pedestal the more likely we are to step on others pursuing those goals. We should be promoting & uphold as prized behaviour decent morals (simply in how we treat all people), ethics, caring, consideration & a willingness to consider & gain pleasure in thinking of others before ourselves all the time. 👍 Essay 2.😊

This is one of the most disturbing, disgusting cases I've heard in a while. What kind of p.o.s. adopts a child just to abuse and end up murdering her. From day 1 the family hated both children. These people got extremely light sentences considering the circumstances. Just awful..

You would be surprised at the endless cases there are through adoption. Adoption is human trafficking. Poor and young mothers are groomed into placing their babies. Adoption is a huge money maker. Adopted children aren't seen as humans, prizes or dollar signs by agencies and APs

I knew several families that followed the Pearls "discipline" advice. I didn't know the extent of it till I looked up the book later. I was sickened and disturbed. They have since completely turned around and are aware of the damage those methods cause.

Hannah is the victim not Carrie. This poor girl suffered so much. Any human that can do that to another human let alone a child is a true monster. Such a sad, tragic case of child abuse. In my opinion they got off easy. I hope they deal with abuse everyday their in prison. Being adopted is a huge adjustment and double that on top of the kids being from different countries. RIP Hannah and my prayers are with Emmanuel

Carrie is a victim also. A victim of herself. But she'll never be saved because the ignorance, cruelty, sadism & self riteousness is so thoroughly ingrained she (both of those losers in fact) would never admit to being at fault & therefore never learn a damn thing. So yes, your absolutely right, they need to be treated in the manner they treated those poor children until the obvious & ultimate outcome. Enforced twice as forcefully because they are that much older, that much more aware & in full acceptance of that behaviour so why not?😏

@@Starae336 I dont know where that came from. She was no victim in my mind that's for sure. Maybe it was a comment made by her lawyer when her & her equally loathsome husband tried blaming each other. That was a couple of minutes I definitely switched off, listening to their reasons or excuses. Not interested sorry human scum couple. There is not one word they could say. Not even sorry. Not that they would or are.
