It's pretty simple., know the facts and do the math. The teams that did testing determined that the tires/foam started to break down between 1 and 3 runs. So many drivers were buying 18+ sets of tires, which would be over 5,000 sets of tires (2520 for front and 2520 back). This wasn't known or disclosed up till it was too late to do anything about it. I don't know what AKA's typical production run is, but I would assume they would need at least a 2 month notice for that type of order (production and shipping). Being that teams didn't start testing till mid July and most likely keep that data quiet up till the last minute, it caught everyone off guard. Everyone learns through experience and this was a terrific learning experience for everyone. Having witnessed the amount of tires gone through at the 1/10 ROAR Nationals this year, there is no way that a normal person not sponsored by a tire company can even compete (ie spending $1,000+ on tires alone for a single event). Limited amount, spec tire rule for the win in my book. If not, guess I need to consider going back to racing real cars or sim racing.

@@JetsoN115 if you spent any real time at a track in the last couple years it’s pretty well known tires are the thing. So going to a single spec tire how do you not know your going to need a lot of tires or know that since you have only so many tires that your going to need to limit them. Pretty simple as you said.
