Funny story: at the 2019 arnold I was sitting in the media area (the security didn’t notice thank god) and Larry was sitting right in front of me. That was the year when Thor did a stupid easy 474kg suitless deadlift on elephant bar and narrowly missed 501kg SUITlESS due to foot slip. If your didn’t meet peak Thor in person you wouldn’t be able to imagine the how insanely massive he was. Barely any powerlifters or bodybuilders impressed me at the expo (size wise) but the strongman comp was a completely different experience

@@Nirsterkur Yeah bro 2019 Arnold is the best strongman show so far IMO. Thor was at 455lbs and capable of pulling 501kg SUITLESS, brian was at his peak shape as well (465kg pull in training), Martins did a smooth 440kg, Even Shyv almost pulled 1000lbs.

@@kdekded Yeah buddy, I know all the lifts from 2019 ASC but there's a huge difference of watching in KZfaq from home versus you watching it 100% live. I firmly believe that would have been the day Thor pulled the 501 had not his left foot slip. Attempting it and going on to win the whole show proves what kind of a Juggernaut prime Thor was. There's no way he was homo sapiens.

I'd love to know if based on Larry's experience with Thor when he was at his strongest, if he thought Thor could have pulled more than 501kg. I personally do, but Larry probably would know for sure. His rep ranges and % he was pulling back then would reveal a lot about his true strength. 501 looked too easy.

Thor looked like he was forced to be miserable at 458 lbs in his peak for the 501 kg deadlift. I think in a short, artificial bulk where muscle:fat ratio doesn't matter, he could easily get to 500-520 lbs before his blood levels go through the roof. Eddie nearly died on multiple occasions when he was past 400 lbs. He technically shouldn't have been at 2017 WSM. His heart tests failed the benchmark, and I forgot what happened, but he eventually made it to the contest and well, won. There's a point at which it's not worth the extra weight gain. I think Caron could've competed at a higher bodyweight for a good portion of his career, but maybe he doesn't get any benefit from being extra big. He's always been 330-350 lbs during his peak. He was 360 lbs at one point though.

@@a-a-rondavis9438 yeah if Thor had pushed half as close to death as Eddie Hall did, he would have probably set some records that would never be beaten until new technology completely changes the game. Just want to say, day trading is a very volatile activity and is a lot easier in a long term bull market like what we have been going through for the past decade but if things change, having all your eggs into day trading is a very risky endeavor. Pretty much any wealth management advisor will tell you to get your money into real estate and other long term plays. Yes, some folks are considered gods in the day trading realm but the vast majority of investors don't do that much better than the general S&P500, beating the market is rare and even most hedge funds fail to beat the market in any significant way. Would much rather see Larry get a wealth management team who can get his money working for him in any long term way. Kevin Hart has talked about this a fair bit that most folks just never get sound financial advice. Larry is great and should be able to ride off into the sunset with the money he has made up to this point.
