It's the last ice fishing trip of the season so we decided to bring out the reliable Bite Me Boxes and JawJacker tip-ups one last time. We learn about Eskimo's dedication to the sport as we absolutely clobber these MONSTER perch!

That is a float to prevent the line from being frozen in the hole when the fish takes the bait!

Maybe a little like combining a trap with a fishing pole, but I see a big similarity to the "snap" action of a down rigger. I still fish blind still catch fish. I am not jealous of or upset with my fellow anglers that enjoy and employ modern technology. If I were heading there in the morning I'd be running tip ups with treble hooks, likely harm a much greater % of the fish. Cool to see the fish shallow enough to survive the catch and release. Stay topside everyone, tight lines!
