Nick Menza was one of the most powerful and fast metal drummers I’ve ever seen in my life up close. I got to see them at a small arena in Charlotte North Carolina in 1994. They were supporting the euthanasia tour. Of all the Megadeth drummers over the years with the exception of maybe Steve Adler who technically wasn’t really a part of the band no one came close.

In my opinion,Nick Menzas's drumming just fit better with Dave and Marty's guitar and Dave.E bass ,I'm mean simply listen to tornado of souls, symphony of destruction,train of consequences,there are so many more I'm just picking a few, there have been many drummer's that came after that played the parts and did them justice but to have came up with those beats plus playing them with the perfect sounds for the songs well that is the definition of a professional musician

If his ego were a problem, he wouldn't have brought it up in the first place. He didn't have to, you know.

I think Lars worded it like that because his sons favorite band to listen to from 07’ to 08’ was megadeth but his son probably starting having a different favorite band to listen to after 08’ (but still listened to megadeth ofc). I know that’s the case for me, Metallica/megadeth were my favorite bands to listen to back in 2014 and 2015 but after that other bands started peaking my interest more at the time so they became my favorite band to listen to (but I still listened to and loved Metallica/megadeth). At the end of the day you can still love and listen to a band, but they might not be your favorite band to listen to anymore. Lars probably noticed his son listened to less megadeth and more of other bands after 08’, so that’s why he worded it like that. I might be wrong and you might be right, but no one can really know what he meant when he was speaking in this video

The first four albums by both of these bands ARE metal at it's best. So, if i could go back in time, i would actually buy Dave extra rounds and say "Drink up buddy, it's all for the best!"
