What’s the alternative look like?

@@TheBrokerLife If you need a place to live you mean? In FL you can rent for 1800 a house built in 2023 in a safe area (they do exist right now), and wait for the bottom. I'm a cash buyer though, so not in any rush or subject to the jacked rates

@@TheBrokerLife Honestly, i went through this already in the early 2000s. I waited and waited, watching Case Shiller, etc., thinking it had to bust and it never did. It made zero sense to me how the 40 year income trajectory was fairly flat and home prices were an upwards wall. But that stability was because of my region, cape cod, and it did burst in places like Vegas and Miami in 2008 after the ninja loans fiasco. I bought in 2010, and paid off the house by 2015 (we did well with a small biz). I think the dollar is super debased due to QE, and that assets are better than holding cash or funds for the long haul. I should have clarified my initial comment to say that as an investment (not necessarily a primary residence) that there could be opportunities if we wait and see over the next year or so. I really don't trust the FED or financial news saying the economy is strong. Cheers. PS - my house on the Cape cost 29k to build in 1972, and is worth well over a million now.
