Join us for Day 1 of our latest travel vlog which sees us travel from Dubai to Las Vegas.
We fly with Emirates Airlines from Dubai to Los Angeles. We pick up a luxury 7 seater SUV from Hertz and take the short but slow drive from LAX Airport to Santa Clarita. We stay in the Homewood suites hotel and check out Valencia and Town Center Mall.
We literally grab a bite to eat at Lucille's Smokehouse before stocking up with goodies from Walmart. Jet lag sees us get up at 3am and start the long drive to Vegas.
We check in to Red Rock Resort for the night, enjoy a full day of gambling on the slots and then head to Echo & Rig in Tivoli Village, Summerlin for dinner. We then finish the night with a lot of alcohol and plenty of slot action.

We find it so interesting seeing how International Aiports and Airlines are compared to the States. 16 hours in the air doesn't seem too bad with what you all shared! Sorry to hear about the BBQ restaurant. Glad they made it right for y'all! Dipping into the reserve on the first day is something we're all too familiar with 🙃! We still have yet to venture off-strip and check out Red Rock so this may influence us to do so. See y'all on the next one!

Yes there’s worse ways to travel for 16 hours so can’t complain too much. Red Rock is definitely worth a night, Durango is only 5-10 mins away as well so would be a good night away from The strip visiting both casinos.

These comments about you not letting Emily talk, I've noticed she does speak up if she wants to and has no problem speaking her mind. Just seems like vlogging is maybe not her thing, but she totally supports your joy in doing so. You seem like a happy couple to me, but you totally should have finished Barbie lol. Your actually spot on (as you’ll see in our trip recap coming out next week) Emily by choice takes a back seat in the vlog as it’s not her thing, it’s more my vlog than a traditional couples vlog. I did give Barbie a try but it was like putting pins in your eyes 😂

45 minutes is a shame. We’ve started ordering our starters, eating those, and then ordering mains. Sometimes the restaurant almost try and encourage (read force) you to order together but we just eat slowly and prefer to take our time over dinner. Plus we are the customer! We will order how we want - within reason. Great vlog , looking forward to the rest!

Thanks, I mean I appreciate they like to turn tables but at least give time for the food to be digested and enjoyed properly. Shame as it made a big impact on our overall enjoyment and review of the place.

Thanks for watching glad you like the content. The idea was to do Death Valley, so we wanted to get out of LA before 5pm but not go too far, initially Ridgecrest was the plan as closer to the park but then we changed it to Santa Clarita to have access to the mall. Due to delays and the race it just scuppered our plans a bit.

@@roamingnewroutes I fell asleep pretty much all the way. Remember putting on seat belt n that's it lol. We went to Nitrocross behind Planet Hollywood on the Friday was amazing and got to pits to meet n have selfie with Travis Pastrana. We had the Nascar team trucks parked outside luxor where we was staying on Thursday. Our 5th time to Vegas n still it amazes us how some random cool things always seemed to happen and by the way your vlogs are proper good n enjoyable to watch

Do you declare your cash when you fly into the US as you must be carrying more than 10k. Not known anyone declare it and wondered what happens if you do. ??

Hey Jeff, we only take gambling money in cash which is just below the $10k threshold. As the $ is pegged to the UAE dirham we pay for everything on our credit cards so it limits how much cash we need to take.

You seem to cut-off and dismiss your wife's thoughts and comments quite a bit. She may put a boot in your bonnet (as you chaps say) if you keep that up. Let her be your equal on camera. (and hopefully in life) Of course, this is the first of your videos I have seen, so perhaps it was just due to you being super tired from the long flight and lack of sleep. Not trying to be mean, just a friendly observation.

Thanks for watching and the feedback and sorry it comes over that way. Emily by her own choice wants to make a very limited appearance in the vlogs, it’s more my thing so you won’t typically see or hear a lot from her in the vlogs but it’s never my intention to talk over her when she does speak.

You do a nice job with the videos but you don’t let your wife talk so while you have her in the video she’s either inaudible or not saying much. Why is that? The little she does talk you tend to talk over her. Perhaps this is more your vlog and I didn’t pick up on that?

Emily prefers not to be in the Vlog that much on purpose. Typically the microphone in the phone doesn’t pick her up clearly when she does talk in proximity to me so even though I can hear the conversation I don’t think the phone picks up it clearly.
