I am a little paranoid. The Xtool P2 has a small gap at the front, when the extension is mounted (I'll probably will close this gap somehow). Is it still necessary to wear goggles even if the machine has a full enclosure (same for other machines that have a enclosure)?

Does the gap let out light? If you have an enclosure it’s usually not necessary to wear laser glasses.

I’m paranoid like that with my xtool m1 too. Yes it’s enclosed but you can still catch blue light through the cracks sometimes. I bought glasses just in case.
