As you may remember, Lasernut 93 had a crash on it's last drive… Now that we're moved to our lovely new location and the car is repaired, it's time for some FPV fun again. Join me exploring the fields behind our garden… and get a new range record at about 970 meters. Maybe I should try again after the corn harvest, what do you think? Nice run and distance. The rabbit looked jacked up as you were chancing it. Awesome job taking the Lasernut to it's limits. 👍

nice to see you back on the wheels!

Wow that's a perfect wide open space there!! Imagine if you owned a bucket truck lol. Could go up maybe 25ft+ and drive everywhere.

😆 I was already up in the attic to get that far. Down in the garden range is quite limited, to many obstrusions like those trees you see at 00:42. With the DJI mini 4 pro I was already furher away but had to return because of rain setting in…

@@NUeB_RCFPV What are your thoughts on the O4? I mean I guess we're not going to see an O4 Air Unit anymore in the US but maybe you can still get one? I wonder if it blows the O3 away when it comes to penetration.
@NUeB_RCFPVАй бұрын
@@Magneticitist They do not even offer an O4 air unit here… And I'm not gonna buy an Avata for sure. (Still got a brand new tinywhoop layin around…)
@MagneticitistАй бұрын
@@NUeB_RCFPV Oh I thought the mini 4 pro had an O4 inside. AFAIK DJI might still be able to sell the standalone units when they come out but just not to the US.

@@Magneticitist Oops. You're right. Didn't care too much about the tech inside when I bought it. But it's hard to compare since I do noot fly the mini 4 like I drive the Lasernut… (this wouold be a terrible idea!) - So I can not seriously compare the both of them side to side. But the mini 4 is quite good on it's job; just not so much fun like FPV'ing - that's why I already bought a tinywhoop for FPV fun (later this year).

What causes the slight side to side movement of the camera? Is it just that you have your fingers on a joystick controlling it and are slightly moving it around on accident? Or is it setup for head tracking?
@NUeB_RCFPVАй бұрын
It's because steering is also mixed into pan servo output. Every tiny correction of direction causes the camera to move too.

@@NUeB_RCFPV Doesn't that make it hard to drive straight?
@NUeB_RCFPVАй бұрын
@@Magneticitist don't think so. it makes cornering much easier for sure.
@MagneticitistАй бұрын
@@NUeB_RCFPV I guess it's sort of the inverse of the problem I see with the gimbal I'm using, which does actually make it a little hard to drive straight. As I veer right or left it sort of wants to lag a little trying to recenter itself so it's hard to make instant precise adjustments and tell what I'm actually doing. So far there is sort of a way around that by forcing the "Home" position but maybe they'll update the firmware like Chadd was hoping. Otherwise I'd say you should try the HEQ gimbal. It was surprisingly easy to setup. I would maybe put it on some crawler or something that can go fairly fast like a trail truck, or even the Lasernut if you don't mind risking it lol. Since all you really have to do is just plug in the receiver ground and the signal wires to 3 available channels, plus the 12V-18V power, the whole setup takes just a couple minutes of calibration. I'll do a video maybe tomorrow showing my results in some woods and hopefully I won't have tons of jitter issues. Just driving around the living room gives it a lot of promise though.

@@Magneticitist I think we should give HEQ some time to tune the firmware four tough FPV driving. The gimbal's job on a fixed wing is so much easier than with us. ;) Right now I don't even have a car I'd like to put a (still huge) gimbal on. A crawler? Don't think so. The 1/6th scale Super Lasernut? Maybe next year… Got to take a look, I thought Chadd was done with FPV, isn't he?
