In this highly requested video, I go over how to isolate layered lashes with tape! In this video I'm using the Nexcare sensitive tape, but you should be able to use any tape of your liking. You can also test out this method with under eye pads/patches. It is a great way to tackle lashes that are more difficult to lash, like super layered or super curly lashes. This is also a great way to lash super straight lashes, since the taping on the eyelid naturally lifts up the lash line so that the lashes are pointed up. Try this method out, and let me know how you like it! You can also combine this method with the traditional isolating method like I did, but it may be a good technique to have under your belt in case it is needed. Happy lashing!

I don't count exactly how many I'm pulling but it looks like I'm pulling anywhere from 9-11D - I just try and go by the thickness of the base of the lash! I hope this helps!

Do you have a trick for the tape back method on a fill? Does the nexcare tape pullout lash extensions when used on lashed lashes?
@YegiBeauty
@YegiBeauty Жыл бұрын
I haven't had too many issues with the nexcare pulling the extensions out unless the extension wasn't properly placed to begin with or the natural lash was ready to come out. If you're concerned about that though, another great option is to use the under eye patch instead of the tape since it is a little less tacky

Hi Yegi, got my certificate with Yegi on October and now doing lashing at home. I have a question, can I do this kind of taping and isolating with the refill? I’m scared that the lash extensions will be stuck on the tape. Hope to hear back from you soon. Thanks.
@YegiBeauty
@YegiBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I have seen this fills done that way as well, but if you are concerned about the extensions that are already on getting stuck, you can try doing this same method, but with under eye pads and see how it goes. I have a video on how I did that so it may help you out! If you want to use the tape, you can try patting the tape on the back of your hand to get rid of the stickiness so it is easier to remove as you are going through the layers. Also, in general, when you're doing fills, isolation can be easier so in that case it may be easier to stick to isolation with the tweezers.

@YegiBeauty

Hey, thanks for watching! Sounds like I've kind of done the opposite of that. That technique can still work and is great to try out so definitely explore that option too. In this case, I've just opted to only tape down layers that don't have extensions on them and release the natural lashes as I go. This way I'm not applying tape to the extensions themselves and working with the tape the same way I would use an actual isolation tool. I don't think either technique is wrong and it may be great to know and practice both to see what you prefer!

Hey yegi when placing lashes does it matter if you do a top method placement or under placement?
@YegiBeauty
@YegiBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
Not really! For volume fans, I personally try to apply underneath but sometimes, especially if your client has straight lashes, it's not possible. As long as you make sure the base of the extension is attached it doesn't matter if it's from the top, side or underneath. It will still look good!

@@YegiBeauty awesome thank you for the clarification❣️ so i am able to mix placements as long as they are attached to the base 👌

Does this method take the same amount of time like a regular isolation or no?
@YegiBeauty

Ideally it would make it a faster process but of course as you're getting used to this method it may slow you down in the beginning

@@jenjen12345653 It's good to know different methods! Some clients may be easier with the traditional tweezer isolating, and others may need you to do this because their lashes are layered or more difficult. The more you have under your belt that you can go to as needed, the better!

What is that thing you have all you lashes on?!

Hey Whitney! It's called a magnetic lash pad on our website - it's basically a headband that has a magnet inside where you can place the square and then put your lashes on that :)

Hi Yegi, When you say curve tweezer which curve tweezer are you referring to? 😊
@YegiBeauty
@YegiBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I believe when I switched to a curved tweezer for isolation in the end, I was using our G-2 tweezer, and our G-1 is pretty similar as well.
@priscillasalas488
@priscillasalas488 3 жыл бұрын
@@YegiBeauty Thank you. I have the G-1 not the G-2. Would you recommend that i get the G-2 for isolating in layers as you did in this video?
@YegiBeauty
@YegiBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
@@priscillasalas488 If G-1 works well for you, you can definitely use that! If you are using the tape to isolate layers, use your favorite straight tweezer to isolate instead. As you remove more and more tape and switch back to the regular isolation method, switch to your G-1 to isolate!
