Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination is one of the opportunities for engineering students. There are high paying PSU jobs and PG / Phd admissions with stipend.
GATE is especially a boon for students from Tier 2 and 3 engineering students who won't be having good placement opportunities in their college.

GATE score is valid for 3 years. Technically you can use the same score to get an MTech and then to get a job in PSU. But some PSUs ask for that same years scorecard for applying jobs. Eg.IOCL. Hence if PSU is your target, it's better to write it this year. You can take GATE exam any number of times.

GATE score is valid for 3 years. However few PSUs ask for tecent year GATE score. Hence, if you already use your GATE score for MTech in IITs, it's better to rewrite and inprove score again. But you will also get good opportunities from IIT directly based on your specialization.

1. Get a PYQ solved book for mechanical engineering that will be the best investment for prep. Also, there are certain books which includes theory also with PYQs. You can read reviews and get one. 2. Check if NPTEL videos help 3. Otherwise, better to use the books you used for semester exams, instead of starting something new at this stage. All the very best.

Sir,what are the scopes and opportunities for gate Paper DS&AI in iits ,nits and Psu ,I'm a final year student from dept of b tech AI&DS ,it'll be good to choose ds ai paper but as it is new paper I don't know much about it,I have attempted gate 2024 ds ai paper in 3rd year and scored 20 where qualifying mark is 37 I haven't prepared and not conscious about negative marks attempted 62 questions out of 65,I simply attempted to experience and do well in gate 2025,what is your advice sir please help me,is ds ai paper is good choice ?

AI&DS paper is good to get admission for higher education in IITs, NITs or IIITs. You cab go ahead. For PSUs, they expect CS paper, also I don't think any PSU has updated their norms to include AIDS stream for eligibility. Mostly they will ask for undergraduation in CSE or IT. Hence, I would say your option for PSU will be limited. Don't worry about it! Continue to focus with AIDS paper for GATE 2025. Your 2024 experience will help you. If possible write CS paper also. Aim for high marks and IIT for PG. You have good opportunities in private than in government as AIDS is growing.

Most PSUs will look for traditional branches GATE score like CS instead of DA. You can use this score to get into some good ranked NIT or IIIT. From there you can look for private company placements.

@@asoknath6330 There are very few colleges having BE environment engineering right? And of you compare syllabus for Civil & Env, most of subjects are common. Hence, if you are getting civil in a good college than colleges having environment, then select Civil Engineering. You can do ME in environment Engineering from a IIT or NIT. That will give you more opportunities. Pls check & compare syllabus of both. Which college are you getting environment engineering?

GATE exam eluthalam. For PSU jobs, it's better to appear for Computer Science (CS) paper in GATE. Eligibility to job will depend on various PSUs sir. Many of them prefer BE/BTech or Integrated ME/MTech from IT / CSE engineering. It's better to focus on placements first and then on GATE in your son's case Sir. Integrated MTech is good degree, nalla skills develop panina, there will be good job opportunities with salary higher than PSUs in few years time sir.

You can surely try. Generally GATE exam marks are given 75% weightage and interview is given 25% weightage. With 60+ marks, if you perform excellent in interview, there will be chance. Its always good to aim high marks

@@sharmichinnasamy7187 Biochemistry is a good field. Think about these questions: Which are the subjects you like the most within biochemistry? If you are going to do a Masters, which of them would you choose to do? Are you interested to pursue your full career in that field? Based on the answers for these questions you can decide on the subject for Masters, you can also take MSc Biochemistry itself. Now, because its a research-oriented subject, its better to do MSc. After that you can write NET to pursue research. You can also try for jobs in pharma companies in formulation, quality control, research etc. Hope this helps.

Source vise - get a pyq solved book for your dept. For free resources NPTEL videos may help. If you are planning to take coaching, you can take from any online academy. Regarding paper, for PSU jobs better to take exam in EE for your case. If its for PG, you can take CD paper also.

Aama, degree arrear won't affect GATE Exam. It wont affect MTech seat in IITs, NITs etc. Please ensure, that your aggregate percentage / CGPA is above 65% or 6.5, as PSUs ask for that eligibility.
