Thanks for asking Aadarsh! 1. It's better to start preparing for GATE after joining engineering. Now you are in school, hope you are planning to write JEE if your plan is to become an Engineer 2. Yes, MTech from IIT & NIT also has placement. Salary depends on company 3. Focus on your school studies & plan the entrance exams you need to write. Getting admission in good college helps a lot.

Yes, you can prepare by yourself. Needs strong dedication and consistency. You can start with General Aptitude and as and when subjects are covered in college you can finish them. All the best.

Each department & course will have its eligibility GATE papers set. I don't think they will allow you to join Petroleum Engineering with EE paper. Its better to take your core paper and any paper from combination list given. A random switch may not help.

visit official GATE website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in you will get syllabus and question papers. This is right time for preparation. As you are a 3rd year IT student, hope you are getting ready for placements also in parallel. That's also Important and will give you more options.

Yes, You can take Mechanical Engineering or ECE paper, whichever you feel convenient with. PSUs may not take Robotics UG, you can use GATE for PG in IITs. And dont be worried, there are many good opportunities from private companies, if you work towards it. Its a booming field, so develop skills and be updated. All the very best.

Ofcourse! Through GATE you can get job in oil majors like ONGC, HPCL, BPCL etc. They are some of the top paying government companies. Also, if you get MTech / PhD in IITs the career options you get from there are good too.

1. It totally depends on you. Coaching is not necessary. You can follow the GATE syllabus and self-prepare. Coaching will help you to get tricks to solve questions. 2. Its better to start from the 2nd year itself. 3. It doesn't matter, GATE follows the core and basic syllabus, so university syllabus is enough. Try to follow GATE syllabus along with that. I will be answering these questions in the next GATE related video as well. Thanks for asking!

Yes Sir, NITs have good core company placements. I think their median placement salary is around Rs.9lakh. If his aspiration is to get into a good private company, he will be able to get it from NIT Trichy itself. However, if he wants to get into PSUs, then he can prepare for GATE. I would suggest him to prepare his subjects well for college exams and prepare for placements in NIT Trichy. As an alternate back up plan he can also prepare for GATE from his 3rd year or at least in 4th year to keep doors to PSUs and IITs open. Thanks for asking and all the very best for your son Sir.

I hope you are aiming for IITs. It's better to target 70/100. Even if you score less you will get into NITs or IIITs, they are also equally good and can lead you to good placements

You already got placed? If yes, I would suggest you to join the job & keep GATE 2026 as your focus. You can start preparation in parallel and give a trial attempt in 2025. If not placed / bot sure about having job immediately, you can start preparing full time. For getting into PSUs, 6 month self preparation will be less time. For MTech in any NIT, focused 6 months preparation might help. So it depends on your situation & aspiration. Check the pros & cons.

According to my knowledge, after BARC interview, you will be having option to choose one of the above. If you choose DGFS, you will be allowed to do MTech from any IIT and join BARC afterwards. For OCES, BARC will directly give one year training. It's better to clear BARC interview first and go for the options given to you.

Epavume it's better to take a good college (within your financial limit). It will provide environment to get the basic subjects better, option for placements etc, even if you prepare for GATE.

As you are a bio student, try to identify your favorite area in AIDS and try to get skilled in it extremely well. You can take courses outside college and learn them. If you take GATE CS paper, opportunities are more. You can decide to write both CS and AIDS paper also. Go through the syllabus and decide based on your comfort level. Fees was 1800 for boys and 900 for girls/SC/ST/PwD candidates last year. This year, its not announced yet. All the very best.

Thanks for asking! There is no bar from you writing GATE in any paper. If you clear GATE computer science paper, IITs will allow you to get PG sear also. However, some institutions may have restrictions in giving seat. Hence, I would request you to be extremely cautious, and if possible give two papers for safe side.

You can apply for PSUs (which asks for GATE score) if you are just qualified. But to get employed you need to be in the top. Hence, its always better to aim at least 70+ marks in GATE. They will have an interview with 25% to 30% weightage also to calculate merit.

Eluthalam but you will get PG or Job Opportunities only after completing MSc . So its better to do MSc. Try to get into good college for your MSc. That's helps as well

Stipend is monthly scholarship given to you while studying MTech or PhD by government. Yes, PG ku fees pay pananum, it will he manageable by the Stipend you get.

For PSU jobs, few companies have 24 years and few have upto 30 years of age as entry criteria for general category. So check if you will come in that. Second, I hope you are working now, For experienced candidates PSUs call for directly also. Hence, you may not need GATE if you have relevant experience. You can use the three months effectively. Start with favorite subjects which have a high weight age of marks. Try to avoid negative marks.

There is no specific requirement. Any cgpa is fine. If you are looking for PSU jobs, they may put a cgpa condition to appear for interview. Check gate2024.iisc.ac.in for eligibility criteria

Yes, there is no age limit for GATE & you can apply. However, note that PSUs have age limits for intakes through GATE score. May I know the purpose of taking the exam?

For Physics there are many other options. JAM or NET eluthi neenga nalla college or research ku polam. Even PSUs Physics job neenga directah apply panalam. For GATE, after BSc eluthalam, but periya opportunities illa. MSc complete panitu eluthuna more useful. Overall, there are so many options after Physics. Maths is important for GATE as it carries 13 marks but you can surely improve if you give some focus in important areas based on PYQs. All the best

No need to focus in rank. It's better to target more than 70+ marks out of 100 atleast. Generally PSUs give 25% weightage for interview, hence rank is not the determining factor..
