On any big game hunt out West, don’t walk further than ten steps from the truck without your rifle….as you’ve proven to all of us, the game isn’t always way over there!

I’ve subscribed to that rule for decades, and I’ve seen several friends miss chance-of-the-season bucks who didn’t. Always take your rifle with you when you get outta the truck.

Thank you. That is why I hunt. Matthew was on my first pronghorn hunt, when he was 2 years old. He was on dozens of other pronghorn hunts with me as a kid. I think those times are why pronghorn hunting is so far up my list.

Thanks for sharing this hunt. It hits me in so many ways. With the amount of points it takes to draw some of these experiences, I'm in a similar boat with Randy wondering how many more that I have left to be able to enjoy with my young adult son who is BTW my favorite hunting partner 😀. I've got the itch to go antelope hunting now.

That's cool to hear. I am always having a fit when Matthew milks these hunts for every minute of every day. But, the tag holder gets to decide. And the great part is that Matthew was completely satisfied with the hunt, buck or no buck taken.

Many areas in Northern Washoe County, Nevada, look like this country 6,000 plus feet up. I have seen many antalope up in that type of stuff. In Central Nevada, I have seen them in steep mountains 9,000 feet up in juniper areas. Antalope seem to be adapting to a more mule deer type country.

Funny seeing a place I hang out. Taught my wife to drive stick within a few miles of there. I uh, I didn't have a ton of time to glass with that going on. And I didn't want to see anything that was going to take me a decade to draw even as a resident.

In a way I’m a little happy Mathew didn’t get a chance to fill his tag. Where I live if you turn down an opportunity you might aswell pack your bags and head home. I have hunted 30 days in a season without seeing a single animal that’s legal. So I’m sorry I have a little bit of a “serves him right” mentality and I can’t help it lol. Cheers.

@@Bpeay4i live in northern bc man. tough hunting here.. the hills are steep, the bush is thick.. I promise you work your ass off for every single opportunity you get. Its mostly limited entry hunting aswell so even getting a tag is tough. But I’m not exaggerating when I say if you miss or turn down an animal. Your probably heading home empty handed.

Always have your rifle with you...... and be able to shoot 500 yards on a pronghorn hunt
@Fresh_Tracks
@Fresh_Tracks 8 ай бұрын
Not necessary when filming, given how long it takes for us to get cameras set up and our ten seconds of pre-shot focused footage. And we never take shots at 500 yards. We try to keep them under 300 yards.
