I want to thank these hard Detroit workers for my fine 02 GT convertible. she's been a tough car. 2 owners and still going, 182k original miles. qa1 suspension upgrade tho. Riding fine once again. Blue is my daily driver 60 mile commute daily. so proud to have a good car from these fine folks. thanks so much for hard work, it pays to be a mustang fan.

Drive up I-75 northbound to Detroit and you'll pass the Flat Rock assembly where the Mustang is made today. There's a huge Mustang mural on the outside of the assembly, you can't miss it when you drive by. It's the same county as Dearborn and Detroit. They make F-150 truck at the Dearborn assembly now, you can take a tour and see them being assembled. It's worth doing if you're visiting Detroit. Unfortunately you can't tour the Flat Rock assembly. I wonder what goes on inside?

I’ve got an 04 v6 convertible built in feb of 04. It has the pony package. I hit 100,000 miles about 2 months ago. The second gen of the SN-95 body style, known as the new edge, is in my opinion one of the prettier mustangs to date. When taken care of, they don’t age. Earlier this year I also got to go to the plant to see where they build the current F-150s, at the time it was still the 17 body style, but my favorite part was getting to meet someone after the tour that worked on this assembly line and to be able to shake one of the hands that built my car.

Hertz was first owner, it was totaled in the A and B pillars and repaired. 2nd owner totaled it in the same area and repaired. last owner before me totaled in the nose, used front clip put on and then I got it. I put a 2000 3,8 in and after being totaled 3 times this baby is still turning heads.

Plebeian here. I owned the first year Mustang from Dearborn, a 64 1/2 coupe and drove it all of my teen life into my first marriage. Loved it. Bought a 2004 Mach 1 built in Dearborn in April. Last year of the Dearborn Stangs and love it too. It is what it is and it's a lot of fun. Mr Macnamara even your Yukon is a good truck that typically go for hundreds of thousands of miles if serviced correctly. With your opinion of American autos, why did you buy one? I'm honestly just curious..

rockshorewave...it was built in 1918 and the first products built were not cars, but boats. Sub Chasers they were called. They were intended to hunt for submarines in WWI but very few saw action in that war. The boats served many purposes, even in WWII patrolling the east and west coasts for enemy subs. Many vehicles built here; Model-A's, T-Birds, etc. then the Mustangs for many years till it closed.

From begrudging parts of a job he once held and the overall look and feel of the of the people and the plane to the fact that so much attention seemed to be paid to people simply standing around rather than the product they supposedly produced so proudly, can anyone really be surprised by the domestic auto sector’s troubled legacy? Would one honestly expect to witness anything even remotely similar on the assembly line of a German or Japanese maker, even those which assemble stateside? A 30 year career of premium wage and benefits can be instantly resented simply for not having been a 31 year career.
