Welcome to Fun with Boxes.
This is episode 37:
Last Light designed by Roy Cannaday and published by Grey Fox Games.
Last Light is a superb full 4X game that you can play in under an hour and it has 3D planets and a cool rotating board!!!
In a game of Last Light players take on the role of Alien factions racing to control the last light in the universe.
Each turn, all players will select an action card, then all players will reveal their action card and take the actions on their cards simultaneously, exploring planets, mining for resources, gaining new technologies, and commanding fleets all while racing to the centre of a rotating board to the location of the last known white dwarf star to gather light for their civilisation to survive.
The first player to gather 20 light will lay claim to the last light in the universe and win the game.
This really is a superb game and is highly recommended !!!

Nice video thanks. However a tip for future videos: don't wear a hat because you can't see your eyes. Or at least, put a light source around you that lights your face evenly. :)

Hi. 👋 Thanks for the tip! I have just had some lights and I’m starting to experiment with them and also changed rooms where I film. Though it’s a tiny room and the lights very close to me. I will see if that works. Fingers crossed. Thanks again 🤗 take care. Phil

This was a great explanation of how to play, thank you. 1 small recommendation, it might've helped to have more pictures of the actions you were describing as you described them.

Hello, What resolves first/in what order when people have played command but all refresh cards are out? Regards to board and ship movement? Thanks.

Hi there. If I am reading your question right when the command cards are played it's broken down into 2 parts. First move and then after that attack. First move is done in turn order starting with the player holding the first player token and going clockwise around the board - each player moving if they wish - then when everyone has moved - the attack step happens. Then everyone who played command can attack even if they did not move their ships. The attacks however happen sector by sector and the player holding the first player token choses the order. @thefunwithboxes hello, what I mean is if command cards are played but all the refresh cards are also played, how does that get resolved, ie bored rotating, fights, etc.

@@sirshakletonfury4833 Hi, I see. If Refresh cards are played that round and all refresh cards are on the table, then the players who played their refresh action cards complete their refresh and claim actions as normal. Anyone who has played their command cards also resolve their Command cards as normal. Once everyone has finished their actions then the end of round happens, and as all players have refresh cards in front of them the board rotation happens and everyone takes their fresh cards back into hand. The rulebook can be a little misleading - if you read the refresh action part you can read it as that as soon as everyone has refresh cards on the table a rotation occurs - but this rotation only occurs at the end of the round - not during the action card phase.
