Your knife skills are amazing! I applaud you for your use of the whole fish, see to many people wasting meat because of inexperience or being unprepared! The real work starts after the hunt or catch!

That's just Asian cooking in general. Makes use of the entire fish. But perhaps I'm biased. But I grew up learning how to cook from my parents. We used EVERYTHING. Things that would gross people out. For fish, the entire fish was used. For cows, aside from the obvious cuts of meat, we'd also prep the stomach (triple, gall bladder, etc). Same with chicken, the gizzard, the heart, the feet, all edible and tasty. I know French and Italian cooking frequently does the same. But I grew up in Florida and it was PAINFUL seeing all my friends waste half the things we caught.... They'd throw out fish heads... throw out fish bones. With lobsters, they'd only keep the tail and claws and throw everything else out. For crabs, they'd only keep the legs. People would literally waste more than HALF the catch. It was painful to watch. And I got a lot of flak and disgust about my "Asian cooking"...

For the gaff shot might I suggest reaching over the fish’s back and dragging it back toward you? The fish is already heading away from the vessel and towards the point of the gaff when you reach over which helps sink it in. When coming from below the fish is already headed up and away from the gaff and most likely will just get flopped around w greater chance of a boatside loss 🤜 love the vids keep up the good work ❤❤❤

One glimps of the last video i knew that hot spring. Like that you didn't give up the location. Commercial fished up that way for years via Humboldt. Skipper took me through liz e ann ski _ in and out _ to all the good spots. Saw several orcas push kings from the sea into the inlet into a big school and then they fed. Like 6 orcas bubbled hundreds of kings in that inlet. So wild. Blue glacier ice for cocktails. Was loving your clean orange ling at the hottubb. Once hooked a silver , which was bitten by a ling you caught, bitten by a 30 pound ling. Whole place is wild af. Glad you filmed it all. Life changing once you know all that exists.

You're a great cook and a great fisherman. You remind me of myself first couple years up there fishing. I wanted and did eat everything from the sea. Stocks collars ceviche chums kelp rockfish. Meanwhile, skipper wants beef. Go figure lol
