This is my horse Sovereign. We train together almost everyday of the week. This is the last time that I ride with both of my legs... The next time I get on him will be very different. It is a big change for the both of us!

I don't know much about your story. I haven't been subscribed to you for long, but I am sending prayers and good thoughts that your surgery goes well. Your horse is beautiful by the way.

Karina, You're a huge inspiration to me. I too am an above knee amputee, 55 yrs old and was told by my surgeon that I'd never ride again...well screw that! I worked in the H/J Industry for 12 years before my amputation and love horses and riding more then life itself...am also stubborn and will not allow a quack non rider Dr to intimidate me out of the best therapy on this planet, (Riding and the friendship of a great horse) So I am waiting to see a Surgeon who does a procedure called ossteo integration which will eliminate the socket all together, and then, it's therapy and back on a horse where I am happiest. :) I hope your transition was smooth and you're back riding. May I ask was it above the knee or below? Have subbed and look forward to seeing more from you.:)

I ride and wouldnt imagine what its like not to have the other leg...could you do an update with riding with your one leg?
@KarinaAmeliaAmputee7 жыл бұрын
AmynBuzz123 It is actually a pretty tough and long process... especially since the horse needs to adjust as well! When times get hard I try to be positive and push through it though because this is what I love to do! I can definitely make a new riding video! :)

Do you have an equestrian channel? I'd love to follow you there- I had no idea you had a horse!

Caitlin Padgett Unfortunately I don't sorry! Maybe I should consider it someday haha! But I can definitely put some riding updates on this channel to show how I ride with my new leg! It did take a lot of adjusting for me and the horse and it is a very long process! We try and get better everyday!
