Another tutorial request. I apologize, I’ve always learned by watching or by ear so I have no idea of all the technical terms of thinfa.

Hell yeah dude! Keep it up, these are great. I can’t find anyone else teaching shakey songs.

Miles Hanson thanks. I don’t know all his songs, any other ones you want tutorials for?

You are a legend mate. I love when tutorials don't take 45 minutes to explain a riff :D

Yeah really, when are you going to tell us how stressful your 20’s were..? Tf?

I’m the exact same! I’ve played for over 25 years but never took lessons. My dad first taught me the G, D, and A chords, but I’ve played by ear ever since. Shakey Graves is one of my favourite artists but he has a really tricky and unique style so this helps a lot. Thank you!

slackkey808 Hey no worries man, I usually learn everything by listening and watching people's hands until I get the hang of it so this is great for me. You're doing good.

Cheers dude. Love these videos. It’s like when a mate just shows you the parts so you can just jam it straight away.

Thanks for this, with his stuff especially it helps seeing the frets while someone plays it

slackkey808 Oh you did great, I meant videos like this help a lot for his type of fingerpicking because you can see the fingerings the entire time. You should do Hard Wired next if you know it

Great playing mate. I've been working on this for a while and I won't stop til I get it!! Like you, I’ve never takin lessons and learned to play by ear. I'm just now starting to learn theory after 20 years haha.

I would really appreciate if you broke down the finger picking pattern. It's pretty hard to tell if you dont have any experience with the style

What kind of open tuning is it? A E D?
@kaylinbradley99343 жыл бұрын
Thats what I'm thinking. My G string was a little too high, so I tuned it down till it sounded right. Im pretty sure the tuning is something like A E D
@kaylinbradley99343 жыл бұрын
I mean, its open D lol

What is the finger picking technique?
@slackkey8086 жыл бұрын
dom corriere i think its called Travis style fingerpicking. Basically alternating bass with thumb on the 3 low strings and the “fancy” high strings are played with your fingers

slackkey808 thanks a lot dude!

You're good at showing the notes but not saying what frets or strings the fingers go on. So.....
