Coach DeBoer is amazing and I always enjoy hearing him speak. I think he’s a great coach and a really good man so the Alabama Football Program is in great hands. I think it took some time for a few to get onboard but I think the whole fan base is now. Some had to come to the obvious realization that Coach DeBoer is the next great Alabama Football Coach and just give him a chance and the program will be fine with continuing success. Like any new coach, Coach DeBoer is not a REPLACEMENT but a SUCCESSOR for the prior coach, Coach Saban. It’s also wonderful that Coach Saban is still on campus as ANY COACH from any program would welcome Coach Saban’s advice in some situations or sometimes nothing more than “just talking ball.” I think it’s a great match with Coach DeBoer and the support & program will be great!

I'm fairly optimistic about DeBoer as a *coach*. But however well he does coaching doesn't mean he still shouldn't be criticized for his MAJOR failings retaining key staff, players and recruits. I'm just shocked and disappointed by the virtual lack of any such objective criticism from most Bama fans and AL media. Does the Bama Standard not apply to DeBoer? I'm just trying to be objective. You can like DeBoer as coach and hope things work out well without checking your brain at the door and giving him a total pass / rationalizing his major failings retaining key staff, players and recruits the first couple weeks. RTR!

@@NoSerfdom MAJOR failure?? How so? If anything, I thought the exodus wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been. The greatest coach retires, and given the current environment with how active the portal is + unlimited transfers, it could've gotten very ugly but it didn't. It was about what I expected overall

Tide fan here. Deboer stopped the bleeding and has gotten Bama back of the right track. Got a couple of 2025 recruits re-committed. Got Kadyn Proctor back. Alabama has four good to very good quarterbacks at a minimum....and maybe one or two become great. Not bad for losing the Nick Saban the GOAT.

He's been on the show before, I think Josh will probably do a run where he goes to Texas, Texas A and M, Texas Tech, SMU, TCU, Baylor, and maybe Rice for funzies (and a snack) and call it the 'State of Texas tour', or something similar. @Drewski Deboer arrived in T-Town Friday Jan 12 and was apparently approached by T-Rob who was being offered co-DC at UGA and was thus anxious to discuss possible DC at Bama (which apparently was the expectation he had gotten from Nick after Steele retired) but DeBoer was too busy / naïve / ignorant to prioritize talking to T-Rob on Friday resulting in T-Rob accepting the UGA offer Saturday after which DeBoer apparently finally woke up and tried to salvage the situation by meeting with T-Rob for several hours Sunday and offering full DC + more pay than UGA but it was just too late. An ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure...

Ehhhh you'd be surprised... and I'm a SEC fan.. it's all about matchups.. college football is getting more and more (even) with all the new technology and nutrition diets, workouts etc etc. And God knows how big of a difference it's going to be when the qb can hear his coordinator through his ear the whole entire time.. that changes the game for sure... it's going to be a very interesting year this year!

If completley different coaching staffs determine that Milroe is the guy to lead this team then he is the guy. Other than the Texas game which was his first ever big time start he has played very well in just about every game I've seen him in. As for the 2 guys you just mentioned I cannot wait to see what they bring us in the future.

“Help” is reaching. He limited our offensive plan big time since Bama’s previous OC had to toss the whole playbook because Milroe couldn’t read a defense. Bama’s defense and run game was what led us to the playoffs. If milroe had a wide open deep ball, he could hit that. Other than that, milroe was more of a liability

Did you accidentally skip LSU? LSU odds are right behind Bama, the same as Ole Miss and much better than UTk, Mizzou, Tamu, and AU. I know you don't hate on LSU, so it seems LSU was just overlooked. Honestly, I wish you WOULD talk more about teams that could make the playoff, not just win. For all the love you say you’re going to have for the Big 12, maybe you could spend some more love on the 25 +/- schools not in the Big 12 which would be similarly competitive, but won’t get any mention because they’re not Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, or Alabama.

As a USC fan, the sad truth is that we will never even make a final 4, yet alone top 12. Josh is right, we do not have the guys up front. I just hope we win vs utah state lol, knowing USC they will probably sin 50 to 45, even though our defense has "improved".

I'm an Alabama fan & SEC hardliner- USC is absolutely capable of eventually becoming a playoff/final 2 or 4 team contender again. Don't say "never" because USC is still the premiere West coast program. We all said the same thing about Texas 2-3 years ago, and they rebounded nicely in 2023. If a program as inept internally, and a locker room as soft up front, as Texas can make the playoffs from out of nowhere..... USC can too

😮 Really Alabama "this is a slap in the face to Nick Saban" by paying Deboer almost the same amount per year.? Craziness Bama.!! His HC record by school: 1.Sioux Falls 67-3..(is this even a D1 school.?.JUCO school.?) 2. Fresno State 12-6..(well this is a D1school..historically not good) 3. Washington 25-3..(PAC12..ok 2 years as HC at one decent school) Overlooking his Sioux Falls 67-3 record his actual HC record is really 37-9 only with his two D1 schools. But if you include Sioux Falls he has total of 9 years as HEAD COACH with the record 104-12. Now Bama is paying him almost $11million a year not to include bonuses. Just as soon as he doubles his losses and his overall record is 144-24 Bama runs him out of town in 5 years 😮

Because T-Rob wasn't turning down a DC job to stay at Bama as a position coach and if you seriously think he was qualified to run our defense based on those abysmal defenses he fielded at USC, then that speaks volumes about your football IQ (or lack thereof). He's going to Pete Golding the UGA defense. And what about the 70+ other players Deboer managed not to lose? Do you realistically think we weren't going to suffer some casualties with a coaching transition? We could have hired Kirby and still lost players. There's not a single coach out there that would have kept this entire roster together. If your objective was solely keeping the current roster in place, then maybe we should have promoted T-Rob to head coach and ushered in the Dubose era once again. Also, Saban mentioning players stormed into his office and demanded more money may have had something to do with six, again, six, players transferring... And his recruiting is questionable? Is that why recruiting hasn't skipped a beat? 4 star LB, Two 4 star ATHs, 5 star WR, 4 star DL, then there's Sabb, Mack and Bernard... And we are currently ranked ahead of UGA and every SEC team besides LSU on both 247 and On3. Impressive for a guy who cAnT rEcRuIt. Crazy, Sark couldn't recruit at Washington either and Harbaugh couldn't recruit at Stanford...

@@NguyenLe-nt5to 1) Well you can question my football IQ for wishing DeBoer had not failed to retain T-Rob, but then what does that say for DeBoer since the fact is that DeBoer HIMSELF decided that he wanted T--Rob for DC? The fact is DeBoer spent several hours that first Sunday meeting 1:1 with T-Rob trying to convince him to stay on as DC rather than leaving for co-DC and less money at UGA, but DeBoer failed too close the deal after apparently having badly offended T-rob by rebuffing his request for a meeting on Friday. 2) It's not just the loss of T-Rob per-se but the loss of T-Rob and inability to bring in a proven top flight DC that resulted in loss of Downs GENERATIONAL TALENT who stayed around and waited to see how DC shaped up. 3) Losing Hilson and Grady were inexcusable unforced errors simply due to being non-communicative with them / their families. 4) Word of advice: unless you are on the UA staff, writing in the first person ("we") makes you sound like an ignorant rube. RTR!

Hello, Bama won. Love TRob but I'd take a former HC at D1 level in my 1st year over TRob. KD needs this year. Not TRobs potential. Love TROB but we won.....PERIOD
