The F-4E was meta for a really long time, huh? It was meta from when it was added to when the MiG-21bis was introduced, then it became meta again from the FM changes (became faster than MiG-21bis on the deck) to the update adding the Skyflash/AIM-7E-2, and even now it's still a good aircraft overall. It's impressive how long it's been good for.

If Germany were to just receive the top of Russia, or US basically, then what's the point of grinding those nations, just grind Germany then, saves you time. It will be like this for a while until Gaijin can finally get a damn contract going with Panavia for the Tornado so Germany can finally break free from being annoying to US/Russia. But ye, Germany could at least get one up to date plane, be it a US plane or Russian one, seeing how for instance Japan just got a better F-4E too now. @@Wotplaya4 Bro every german plane recieved from Russia or Us is already downgraded versions of those planes (except bis). So those other nations can actually keep their better performing vehicles for themselves while germany can at least get something to compete until F4F-İCE and Eurofighter Typhoon comes. Also Tornado is used for ground missions in lutwaffe so it will be pretty Much useless at air rb as well.

That Germany got things much later. For instance, if the F-4F was added with the F-4E, they both would've been identical, the F-4E didn't always have radar missiles. The AIM-7Es weren't all too amazing either when they got added. However right now I don't really care too much anymore, I think Germany should've just gotten the F-4F ICE maybe last update, which I did hint in my comment. With it being treated as the F-4EJ Kaj, with downgraded missiles. Germany would then be pretty future-proofed with that. Idk why Gaijin didn't do it, but did on the other hand for Japan. I mean it's just an F-4F with better radar then, nothing too gamebreaking. Same stuff as the F-4EJ kai. Although I don't know if the ICE was capable of using sparrows, because that would be a shame if it couldn't, for balance reasons.

Fair enough... but that's top tier for pretty much everyone but Russia nowadays. Leo 2A6 and 2A5 are still capable machines that fit the current meta, and they have an excellent top tier SPAA in the form of the FlaRakRad bus thingy.

Apparently the germans only had the SPS-141-100 pod on their MiG-21bis. The russians used the ASO-2 dispenser in Afghanistan which is why the russian bis gets the ASO-2 dispenser

It's not so much a first stage afterburner as it is an afterburner increment, if that makes any sense. Like instead of being just 0% or 100% afterburner, if you use the scroll wheel you can go to different levels of afterburner. It even works on aircraft that shouldn't have anything but an afterburner toggle (F-104A for example).

Well you kinda can already regulate the afterburner, it just won't show you at what percentage you are. Afterburner ranges from 101-110%, you just can't see it. Pretty bad design on Gaijins part here, would prefer a red throttle number, like on some planes rather than "WEP". If you do want to see it, you will need an external tool called WTRTI, which allows you to see (if you enable it) your true throttle percentage, and with that you can also see your thrust differences (it can be quite a lot).

@@Xiphactinus Oh yeah, and using the same tool, WTRTI, you can also enalbe a WEP timer, showing you how long you have left on WEP.

Hi, late reply and maybe not from the person youre expecting... But I'd say the Mig21bisSAU can dogfight a Mig23M if youre skilled but there has to be quite skill gap when fighting an MLD. In terms of META, this thing sucks. It isnt in any of the major META teams it just cant 1vX Mig23s or Viggens. It itself is a good plane, but with the teams and planes it faces, it is at a severe disadvantage. Most of my higher end jets got a win% of 51-55 (I'm average) but this thing has 40% and i can barely get a KD of 1:1. This is just my opinion tho and others might have different experiences. TLDR: you can def do good in this thing. but it is outside of your control when you do it.
