One thing to keep in mind about the current matchmaking is that since it's 16v16 players die a lot faster due to furball and steamrolling (the new IR missiles makes killing players a lot easier) which will cause the RP gain per match to be awful, especially for F2P. If you do average you'll only get around 2-3k RP, at most 5k RP per match if you did well.

Check out MiG-23M's bug reports. All Fulcrums and Vipers currently have extremely bugged FMs, with the Fulcrum being a brick and the Viper being a UFO

honestly adding more people to higher tier was the incorrect move, it should have been the reverse, lower tiers should have more people per match and higher tiers should have less, 1. better ballance and 2. more historicly accurate to the air wing sizes of those era's

Watching the F-16C and the R-73 videos I can tell the game is in dire need for decompression. I mean, even more so that it was already. Not to mention that top tier needs to go full 6.0, 6v6 matches...

I think I've died more often this patch to random radar SPAA from 4km away than I have actual other aircraft lmao. They nerfed mid map AA, but they seemed to have buffed the convoy AA and added even more of them next to bombable bases.

From my experience the F-16C is definitely the most dominant Jet This patch, yes the Russian missiles are also really good, but the 9M is literally a point a click experience from what I seen.

I'd also note the MiG-29's seem to be a lot more sensitive to fuel changes now, which is most likely the main reason the SMT feels so bad rn. Taking full fuel load is not just overkill but also sandbagging it's performance.

I honestly don't find the r27er to be very reliable at all, especially since it got nerfed with attila (making it slower). but 90% (even before this nerf) of the time even with perfect missile solutions for the er the missile just goes stupid with a full lock and a non manouvering enemy, its done that so consistantly i stay away from using it. and for the r73 it still has a god awful fish tailing problem, i've shot at an f16 in rear aspect from 0.30 km away, and my missile decided that it wanted to do summersaults in place that day and didn't even go 500m. so far i have not fired a r73 that hasn't been shaky. i dont know if im just horrendously unlucky or what but more often than not i've had it 1 flared in rear aspect from 2 km aswell. and then there's the flight model, we still have an AOA limiter and can only hit a max of 20 degrees of AOA (which is substantially less than even real life safety guidelines) and it turns like a boat, never got the engine upgrade it was supposed to. but yet i only ever see american players say its op still. where as they got the majority of the buffs this update, the f16 currently is an absolute UFO and absolutely not worth dogfighting even in the old mig29, its that good, not gonna mention the aim9m because i haven't used them and have dodged a lot of them, but from what i've seen, they fly straight and true and very often hit their target. And it also kind of seems like theres been a shadow buff for the aim9L because those things COMPLETLY ignore flares now, being unable to dodge them while doing everything right to dodge an IR missile, which is just another plus 1 to america, so this is update is extremely weighed towards the american playerbase throwing the other nations to the wayside. Thats just been my experience so far.

Its un-real how many F16 players I still see complaining that their jet isn't good enough. I am aware that every nation has players who are guilty of wanting their nation to curb stomp the rest, but in the most recent patches, it seems like America has been really bad about this. The fact they now have by far the best flight performance, the best or second best Fox 2, and are STILL finding stuff to complain about when some nations don't even have fourth gens is beyond me.

Wasn't't Gaijin planning on fixing its flight model and giving it more AOA, or was I lied to? Also, did the 9-12 mig 29 get its flightmodel changed like this? Or is it simply due to the extra weight of the SMT?

I don't get why they didn't add the MiG-29S instead. It's a Soviet variant, so it would make more sense to add it first from a historical point of view. Its flight performance is better than the SMT too. It's basically just the 9-13, except it can pull a little more AOA.

From what I’ve played so far honestly the f16c and Mig 29SMT are literally just the same additions as apex predators. Want a insane flight performance with decent missles? - F16a or adf. Want a decent flight performance with insane missles?- Mig 29. These planes are pretty much split 50/50 as they were before and I welcome how they were added. Tho I do wish the mig just wasn’t a 27ER slinger, it’s pretty level for the sake of balance.

I don't have a problem with the high speed loss - pulling 10Gs is gonna dump an insane amount of speed in any plane. I have a problem with fantasy flight models pulling 11-13Gs with ease and facilitating that speed dump with every turn. I'd rather have more accurate G loads so that planes stay faster without turning into something from Ace Combat. Gives older aircraft like the Phantom and MiG-21 a bit more of an edge too because they don't tend to exceed their G limits nearly as often. But yea 7Gs dumping half your speed starting at nearly mach? BS

I get the unpleasantness with the weak engines. I agree they need buffed some. Losing to F-16s in a dogfight thought. I can't complain. 29 has better standoff and IR missles. F-16 has better dogfight capability. That in and of itself is balance. I fly both sides and enjoy both equally. I prefer to fly the F-16 because it is my favorite of all time IRL. Though as I fly in Sim my opinion is only worth so much here. TarnsmanOzz is my game name if some want to check before spouting something off the cuff here. o7 Great video, Defyn. I just wish there would be more balance. it feels like usa and ussr trade places as the dominant force every patch and other nations suffer for it. especially other nations that don’t have american or soviet planes. It would be way more fun if there was more variety and it wasn’t just the same 3-4 planes plus premium planes.

While I think the bad FM is exaggerated, it plays into Russian doctrine of the time of getting one really good high speed turn and using the R-73 and HMD to carry it through the fight back when HOBS missiles and HMD’s were far from standard.

Toptier not only has too many people, there's just too many people that tunnel vision on the first enemy they see. I rarely see any methodical gameplay, it's mostly just rushing in to get targets and kills ASAP. No wonder though when probably the majority of people by now got there through endless premium base bombing

Defyn is right about the radar missiles these days. You have to mow the lawn in your top tier jets otherwise you get slammed from 12km away by a 27er or 7m. I want to play my jet like a jet. I'd play tanks if I wanted to mow the lawn. All of the radars in the game are too powerful and maintain lock on a chaffed notch too well.

Lacking in russia was a mistake had to get the mig23 pack so i can stop grinding with the 21smt. Frankly I actually enjoy the mig23 and the r24ts. Going from bvr to bfm against a high flying f14 and winning is rediculously satisfying.

I'm watching and seeing his mig 29 have the performance of my yak 38m XD.

love the new top tier stuff but this shit is exactly why i just stay in custom battles to pvp, because there you can atleast play without max fuel and the SMT sort of does way better that way with min fuel. in there you get a good feel for the base airframe without all that weight dragging it down. and its SO much better than what you had to play with here. its a shame that in air rb its basically relinquished to this because gaijin is OBSESSED with adding shitty fuel hump versions of cool MiGs- except this time the smt seems slightly less meta breaking than the 21SMT when *it* got added. (i could be clueless though, i dont play much rb anymore as mentioned) honestly would have been so nice to get a mig where we can just take extra drop tanks rather than be forced to lug an extra TON of fuel internally while also suffering aerodynamic losses

The f16s feel pretty good and I think they should remain as they are, but the migs need to pull more AOA than they currently do. The f16 irl out rates everything known to man. But the mig is better in the one circle. The smt does need better engines though. I agree there. I also don't know why they didn't give the f14B the 9m and move it to 12.3.

You need to play something between 7.0 - 9.0 after the patch, half the maps are far too big now if you're in a subsonic. Plus all the issues with fog
