The unprompted audience "Awww" when Driver talked about showing the kids in his building the movie, just increased his bankability as an actor by huge percentage.

And (to me, at least) his kinda surprised look at the audience reaction indicates he didn’t say that to get brownie points. It feels as if he doesn’t think that was a kind and generous thing to do, just normal and neighborly. I don’t necessarily enjoy the types of movies he is in, but I think he’s quite talented and I absolutely love how he carries himself. In his interviews he comes across as earnest and sincere. And I LOVE all his sketches on SNL-he absolutely throws himself into each one as if it were a blockbuster movie 😂

Although there are many actors whose work I enjoy, there are not many with whom I think a common person could have an enjoyable conversation (by that, I mean enjoyable for both parties). From the few interviews I have watched, Adam Driver comes across as someone who is very thoughtful and genuine; he doesn’t appear to be trying to portray a carefully curated persona. I get the impression that he would be an interested listener even if the person with whom he’s speaking is not another celebrity. With some actors, I am happy to see them succeed even if the movies they are in are not my personal taste. Not that my approval or disapproval makes any difference, but Adam Driver is certainly the kind of actor I like to root for.

They had an embarrassment of riches with such talented actors in their iconic legacy characters and newcomers like Driver and Oscar Isaac, a really fresh idea with the introduction of a former stormtrooper, and (of course) the love of a devoted fan base. And even for all that’s been said of them, it’s not like JJ and Johnson are hack directors. If only there had been a strong vision for a great overarching story across all three movies. With better writing to ensure continuity, a central theme, and actual character development then this trilogy could have been so amazing.

Quit blaming Disney, that was all Kennedy's fault. And Disney didn't bring her in, Lucas did many decades ago. Disney doesn't make internal business choices like that for their separate companies, that's literally what they pay her to do, so they don't have to. It is their fault though for keeping her after all the bad choices she has made.
