terradisiena Back when the show first started he told a story of having to shop for vacation things. I think they were biking around NZ. They needed to get a lot & try stuff on. Seth proceeded to have a melt down. I just remember him saying she will be a wonderful mom because she knew how to handle that situation 😂

as a man who's had two kids I can tell you... they get real pissed at you if you leave and come back to the maternity ward and they have to give you a new one and ALSO you can't get in without it, apparently stealing babies is a way bigger thing than I knew.

True! I'm just not sure why his first instinct is to call an Uber for a baby delivery from their huge Greenwich Village apartment to the upper east side? 911 ambulance gets you to the hospital with sirens and flashing lights! Uber gets you stuck in traffic and if you ruin the car you're ruining the driver's living.

@@prof.scheere6933 i mean working out is kind of a different thing? Most doctors recommend you continue to exercise throughout pregnancy. And yes, women feeling like they have to get back to the office right away is also a problem. In general it's a problem that parents either don't have an option to take leave or feel like they can't in order to keep their careers going. That doesn't mean I think people should be forced to take leave, but that's not the issue for most people.

yeah that was insane. genuinely choked up and emotional, but still having the presence of mind and self control to come up with and deliver a brilliant line like that. i've been a huge seth fan for years, but never seen this clip before. the word "genius" is overused, so i use it sparingly, but today i realized that seth meyers truly deserves to be called a comic genius (in addition to being one of the best human beings on the planet).

Lilac Lizard so that hospital staff can identify him as the babies father. The babies bracelet has an ID number on it, and both of the parents have a matching number on their bracelets.

I had to drive myself to the hospital when I went into labor because my husband had a panic attack. I even stopped and got coffee while he alternated between throwing up and breathing into a paper bag. I will never let him forget it either.

Years ago, a woman gave birth in an elevator in a hospital in Topeka, Kansas. A nurse rode up and down with her and delivered the baby. The mother was really embarrassed about it. The nurse tried to reassure her by saying that a couple of years earlier, there was a woman who didn't even make it inside! She gave birth out in the parking lot. The new mother said, "I know. That was me."

And now he and his brother run around as the cutest wasps ever. Everytime the kids show up in the home-quarantine show I think back to this video and how full of love Seth's voice is due to gratitude and happiness about his family. Even though almost all about the covid-19 situation is quite shitty it is still heartwarming to see his boys enjoying themselves.

I believe you pay the same amount even if the baby is born before arriving at the hospital. I knew a woman who had her baby in the car.

My child was born in the car and we were sent home the same day because my daughter couldn't go into the nursery since she was born in "an unsterile environment-I guess the dog hair tipped 'em off! But we got an insurance statement with claims as if it was a regular delivery. I called and they said it is all agreed upon beforehand so it didn't matter. Crazy healthcare here-never should be for profit.

This is the most beautiful story...we all think of Seth Meyer as being just over the top funny, but although I knew their second son had been born in the lobby of their apartment building this was an amazingly touching recounting of the event and then Seth's tribute at the end to all who helped and to his wife had ME choked up right along with him. What a guy, and that adorable newborn already has his Daddy's dimples!!!

Honestly if that was my building and I came across this scene I very possibly would say that, but in an obviously joking manner. Walk in, take in the tableau, remark mildly, "Well, this isn't what the lobby is for." I assume I get this from my father, a surgeon who once greeted a patient with a tree branch through his torso by asking him, "So, what seems to be the problem today?" [Tree branch guy was fine.]

First of all...Congratulations to the Meyers family!! This reminds me of our story...48 years ago, my son arrived only 30 minutes after we got to the hospital...and five years later, my daughter was born at home in our tiny apartment with at least a half dozen responders crowded into our tinier bedroom. (two of whom were fellow graduates from high school!) AND most importantly, our neighbor then and dear friend to this day, Linda, not only cheered me on and caught our daughter, but also went on to become a pioneer in the home birth midwifery movement. Thanks to her and other dedicated women, midwifery has gained the respect and legitimacy it deserves! (there was a time that she could have been arrested for "practicing medicine without a license")

I love this. The nurse that helped deliver my son was going to school to be a midwife. She is done with school and now is my gynecologist. She will also be my midwife when I have another child.

My dad has always said if Grandma hadn't been with my mom I would have been born on the floor of the apartment. 🤣 Apparently the contractions were so mild she didn't think they were a big deal and Grandma had to talk her into going to the hospital. I was born less then 30 minutes after they arrived.
