I’m a Englishwoman in UK and I know my country is not without its own problems but OMG...the speeches by Trump and Giuliani are just outrageous, I can’t even put into words how sick and frightened they make me and I’m on a different continent. @@Tadicuslegion78 He is weird ( I'm English... in England) spot on. He has an affected manner, but he has also been found out to be similar to Trump in that he is not really successful. Ironically he was born in New York!! He was at Public school (Eton) on a scholarship BUT was NOT a good scholar, he got into Uni, because of where he went to school... NOT because he was an achiever. He became President of Oxford Uni... but apparently removed as he was crap in this post. He started at the Times... yes THE TIMES... but was booted out for fabricating a comment in one of his editorials... so again like Trump, he WILL LIE and proven to do so, to serve his purpose! He is, without doubt, a truly awful politician, like Trump. But unlike Trump, he is a very good orator and 'knows' what he is saying and understands the words. Moreover, he actually sounds like he knows what he is saying. He can debate at/on a very high level... let's not forget, in a debate, facts do not always win you the argument. We have, I believe the worst (possibly 2nd) coronavirus-19 infection rate and or deaths in Europe. So although we haven't had the 'insurrection' attempt you have... we are not really a shining example for anyone... so when we ( the British) talk about your woes... we really aren't mocking you... just astonished how much crap Trump can get away with... over here Boris COULDN'T get away with that, vote of no confidence... then out! ( I hope that's the case anyway)

I was 20 when 9/11 happened. It was the most shocking, violating, terrifying thing I had ever experienced. It is engrained in my brain and I remember it like it happened yesterday. But the attack was carried out by hostile foreign enemies. January 6 was even worse because the enemy came from within. Out enemy was our own president and his enablers in Congress and when that realization sinks in, it hits a thousand times harder than anything a foreign adversary could even inflict

January 6 is worse, because it was not "just" a terror attack, it was an attack to achieve control on the federal state. 9/11 Was "just" for inflicting fear, for a self justified revenge, but its consequences was catastrophic for the whole world. @@MM-mw6ww I think you need to look up the definition of “empire.” The US never had one. The US intervened in countries who attacked us (Germany, Japan, etc) and handed them back. The US had chances to take over the world (with nukes at the end of WW2), and had no interest. I have also heard all my life that the US was on the brink of defeat (from the USSR, from the “Asian Tigers” of the 90s, from the EU that was supposed to make the US obsolete, to the Taliban, etc) and I don’t think China is much of a threat. Their biggest goal was to go to the moon a half century later than the US, and they could not, The US still does well because we innovate.

What's in a name?" These words MEAN important things that are vital to the situation. If you say someone is a fascist because they are sometimes very violent at protests, But they fit no other descriptor of a fascist, while they CAN still be problematic they're NOT a fascist. If a group of people with signs are walking by, and a hooligan among them throws a rock through your front window, that's a problem! But you can't say it's a grenade, and then argue "but what's in a name? It's all about philosophy" when the police respond expecting a grenade. "Grenade" means something specific. A rock through your window is bad. Say rock. It's not a damn grenade.

Antifascist is a broad term, but the groups called antifa are generally more in favor of anarchy than democracy, or at least they defend a very weak state, although this is a very loose term so you can fit many people in it. Of course 99% of people in Europe are against fascism, but that does not mean we define themselves as antifascists because the word has a deeper meaning, affiliated with some radical anarchist elements.
