GR's obvious incompetence cost the Mercedes team valuable drivers & constructors points while destroying the car for purely selfish reasons. Why was Alonzo given an unfair penalty for GR's incompetent driving?. As the race statistics clearly show, as GR was half a second behind Alonzo, he had plenty of time to react to Alonzo's different approach but chose to ignore Alonzo's approach and then dangerously decided to 'flaw' his car through the corner, almost taking Alonzo out, after he losing control of his car.

Oh it definitely is, Russel has crashed multyiple times on the last lap pushing his car to far. He is just lucky he could blame Alonso for his incompetence.

Why in the wide, wide wide world of shwartz would Max go to Mercedes? Just seems insane to me you would jump ship to a team that obviously has not got a handle on the new regulations yet and has some internal comms problems across the different disciplines there. Just sound and fury from the paddock that wants something newsworthy, he's the best driver and RB are by miles the best car package... some shady political scandal and upset daddy is going to change that?

Although I hope not as the “Verstappen poison” would probably be the final nail in the coffin for Mercedes. To survive now they should support Russell’s potential and get a further driver with good manners so the two can work together without too much toxic friction.

I know that Lance is the owner's son, but with Carlos coming available.Oh my God there has to be some consideration to have Alonzo.And carlo signs as teammates not as a hell of a pairing

Lance stays because unless he podiums not even win while driving as an AM driver then the emperor will be fully exposed so to speak. As Williams and Racing Point podiums don’t count as AM team podiums clearly. No arguing with your sentiments though about Carlos.

Max knows better. There’s no other team that give him a car like the RB series. He’s adopted to it so perfectly. He shouldn’t leave until he breaks the record of the most championship. Just no more DNFs like the Australian Grand Prix.

Even if mercedes dropped off a truck full of $$$ to Max's house, I dnt think he'd leave RB. Only way he leaves RB is when his contract is up.... then he'll probably just leave F1 completely.

1: Dangerous and desperate Driver-1 punts Driver-2 at full speed, resulting in Driver-2 having a 51G crash and being hospitalized: Driver-1 gets 10s penalty resulting in NO CONSEQUENCE and wins the race. 2: Driver-1 slows down at an apex before a long straight, deploying a regular defensive tactic to defend from Driver-2. Driver-2 sleeps and fails to see what's happening right in front of him, resulting in him reacting way too late and losing control of his car and having a slow speed crash: Driver 1 gets a bogus 20-second penalty, losing 2 positions and 4 championship points and gets 3 points on his license. Seems fair. 🤡

The common denominator? Scenario1 : Driver-1 was a Brit, Driver-2 was not; Scenario 2 : Driver-2 was a Brit, Driver-1 was not.

Mercedes started to sink when they told bottas that he will not be a driver for Mercedes in 2022. I think Alonso will be perfect for Mercedes, and will be perfect for George Russell to learn to be a teammate not a selfish driver

Solid double points finish for AMR. What a weekend. Could have been worse for Merc if GR was punted off at 50Gs and Alonso went on to win without fault. Most importantly, GR got out the car and managed to walk away safely.

At the moment Mercedes are a disaster. We have had the same excuses for over two years. If they were a proper team they would have corrected the problem or problems by now. No excuses, the reality is that they have no idea what to do.
