Collets: No jaws trying to relieve you of your knuckles, consistent, concentric. Everyone either has a collet chuck or needs one.

True. It also save your tooling from impact from the chuck jaws. Thanks for watching.

Need one of those. Another project to do. You make it look so easy on that Hq800.

I took quite some time to make. I was lucky to get the angle right the first time. Patience is key. 😉

We seem to make the same stuff😂. I made one of these and if I have used it three times that would be alot. 😁Mine is an ER 50 . A bad choice . I have only one collet of 30mm and cant source smaller er 50 in S Africa. Poor choice on my behalf. Well done 0.02mm is good going in a hobby environment. Whats next.? A rotary broach.? 🙂

We all make the same stuff out of necessity. 😂 I wanted my setup (ER32) to be universal between the mill and lathe. I am currently working on a 90mm fly-cutter. Not sure if it will work in the collet chuck. I will as usual, improvise. 😁 Thanks for the support. 👍

I’m guessing you have a threading indicator for your machine? I’ve never seen one of these with one. I’d be interested to see it please? Great job btw.

Thank you. I use a digital caliper mounted on the side of the carriage. I did make a video "Two Axis DRO Made from Vernier Calipers". I use it to re-centre the carriage. Thanks for watching.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. I do have a thread indicator which runs on the lead screw.

You've muted the video while drilling !? why did you do That ? ... I, and every one who like machining wont mind a bit of a squeal .. the sound of machining is welcome .. please let it be I think you were running the lath too fast while drilling and too slow while boring .. Love your work .. all my best
@improviseddiy

Thank you for watching. I lower the volume when I fast forward the video as my rendering program causes an irritating distortion noise on the soundtrack. The lathe was running at 160 rpm while drilling and 300 rpm during the final pass of boring to reduce the chatter. I was running it at 600 rpm during roughing. Thank you for the support and insights. This helps me to gauge what my audience wants.

Good work but too much repetition. We don't need to see "all" the machining at normal machining speed, you could fast forward much of the machining. Similarly, we don't need to see you insert all the bolts, then tighten all the bolts THEN tighten all the bolts using two spanners. Consider just showing one of something, then fast forward through the others.

Thanks for the feedback. I showed the bolting down of the chuck as part of demonstrating the repeatability of the chuck or at least that was the idea. Love to hear from you again.
