What do you get If you have machine empires on a Birch World Origin? Insane broken fun of course! Machine empires MASSIVELY benefit from the extra pop production compared to other empires, getting a base increase rather than just a % modifier!

So this was originally going to be just checking out the mechanics of the Birch World for the first 50~ years and giving my opinion on It. But ended up being basically a full playthrough. If I knew this going In I would have set up a lot of the settings differently to make it more challenging, but It was still insanely fun and OP! A nice relaxing purge of the galaxy! @Lathland the reason the birch world cannot build more of those districts, is that they give you more jobs per a certain number of population. meaning infinite jobs. this includes housing, enforcers, amenities and basic resources. this origin needs mandatory micro management to get the best out of it.

I loved this start when it first came out. I never researched the opening of the hyperlanes and instead fortified the hell out of the corner systems and my Birch World. The greatest mistake in the Galaxy was when they discovered the Core. My personal lore was the lanes were forced closed in a titanic effort by ancient civilizations to contain a superweapon they deployed in the core to wipe out our progenitors, then purged the records to make sure no one discovered the lanes again.

Quick reminder that a crucial(ish) part of the Event Horizon Offset Facility story is still missing for the time being. When starting the game you'll see that there's a setting called 'The Compound' that cannot be turned on or off or otherwise changed in any way. Until that is an option again available, I advise you to not check the E.H.O.F. out and not enable AI usage of it either. Most of the things related to it are still in the game, but it would probably be a bit of a let-down if you made a video where you just look at this Megastructure and then hit a point that effectively reads "end of current build", so to speak.

Btw lath, not sure if youll see this, but early on when you experimental subspaced your science vessels out to your old home system like that, you commented on how it seemed instant, and thats becuase of a small fact that it was, becuase there are no hyperlanes connecting your birchworld where they come from and the outside galaxy, the game has an overflow value that sets it to zero, this same effect is seen in diplomacy as well, empires may actually get positive bonuses to making pacts or federations due to said overflow value, as well, a little spoiler, but you can use this with the EHOF as when it creates systems they arent connected to the galaxy, and the science ships you send through to the other side can instantly subspace back to anywhere in the galaxy using that same overflow. ive played this game for quite some time and if you do manage to see this id be happy to help explain any of the other things that may seem confusing. either way, love the gameplay, keep it up

I wonder how a plantoid or fungoid empire with budding would fare on the birch world. Since the more pops you get, the greater an effect budding has, it seems like it would be an exponential increase
@araaraaura1887

It ends up not being too great. Because budding only gives .02 pop assembly per budding pop, you need 50 pops just to get 1 pop assembly bonus. To get to the 25 assembly you see here with machines, you'd need 1250 pops.

Also, the EHOF can let you jump into any system in the galaxy and enables the Reality Code storyline. please play with some more origin mods aswell lathrix, i find origins are the ones that give us the most roleplay. Gwens addition Playstyles 2 being my favourite one (although not updated i believe it still works) either way, i hope you keep this modded series going, very nice

They also recently added a super-endgame crisis that happens after galactic core precursors or endgame crisis. Really looking forward to content in this mod it's huge!

I love the gigastructure mod for this game. It makes playing tall SO DAMN viable. Also, the AI will NEVER research how to reach the center of the galaxy. This is something only you, the player, can do. Also, Birchworlds are harder when you use an organic empire than a machine, because you gotta feed them as well. If I was to sum up Birch World origin, if you know what you are doing overall, then you will have a good time. If you don't, it will be hell.

Also the E.H.O.F tech is basically like the L gate, where using it makes adds new systems for you to colonize. Unlike the L gate, every time you use it, a new system can be generated. This thing will lead to tech and a resource that is absolutely busted AND there's a chance of getting a planet that is basically a relic world but it doesn't suffer the -6 building slot system. And it's a planet feature that adds plus 30% research production. Or you can give that up to make a weapon. Also, you can farm Ether Drakes this way. No, I am not joking, E.H.O.F can generate systems that will have an ether drake in it. And let us remember, necromancy can be used to revive them. And FINALLY, eventually, you will discover a civ that SELLS relics. Including precursor relics. Although there is a caviat that they are one use versions, but the passive still works I believe...Yeah, E.H.O.F is busted in its own way. And this thing can ALSO be used to find the OTHER center of the galaxy type. If you have the birch world, E.H.O.F can be used to get the galaxy killing weapon, and vice versa. It is...absolutely busted. Possibly more than the birch world itself.

A mod in a similar, ridiculous vein that I very much suggest is ACOT, aka "Ancient Cache of Technology". It effectively adds several new tiers of technology, each of which is designed to stand apart from each other in an intrinsic way, both in what it gives you and in how you get them. Also, absolutely mega-ridiculous Post-Endgame Crisis if you install the "Secrets Beyond the Gates" addon.

Just a neat thought, every time Lathrix is amazed at the ingame model for the Birch world, the real thing would have to be a spherical surface with a radius around the orbit of Neptune to have Earth's 1g around the galatic core blackhole, Sargittarius A*.

Maybe it's a problem with the Menacing Corvettes themselves but regular designs are fine even with actually insane speed like 900. Alternately, I believe ASpec did a video on speedy bois, as he calls them, breaking the game.
