Mistakes to avoid and tips to help type 4 naturals get the perfect wash and go.
It’s been a full year since trying my first wash and go and I haven’t looked back. I can’t believe that I used to believe was and gos were a kind of “hair suicide” for type 4 hair. I would shun the idea for fear of excessive knots and tangles, but guess what? I’ve learned how to achieve the best wash and gos I’ve ever seen on my hair type.
It takes patience to get it right, but once you achieve the perfect wash and go - there’s no looking back. I don’t exclusively do wash and gos on my hair, but knowing that it possible has give me even more pride in the versatility of my beautiful 4c hair.

Thank you soo much, Latoya. I've always been afraid of wash and gos because of the horror stories of endless tangles I've heard. Your tips are very helpful. I actually think is good that your hairdryer only covers the top because the ends are the oldest and most fragile, so the fact that the heat does not hit them directly seems better.

This all makes so much sense! I've decided that I'm going to cut off all my dead ends so that detangling will become easier, I am going to get a cut that better frames my face, so I can try wearing wash and go's. I will start re-introducing water more frequently in my routine. As a natural the one thing that I was so stuck on was this idea of remoisturizing that many people do without washing their hair some how. I was like how are you moisturizing your hair on hair that is full of product? I saw it more as they were lubricating their strands from protection, but not actually hydrating their hair with water. I'm so nervous for this new journey but videos like yours and many others have finally given me the push I needed to start my hair care journey again.

Great content as usual. During this pandemic I started doing wash n go’s b/c of you! Moisturizing with water and LOTS of product. Who knew (you did 😉). Now I’m having a hard time wanting to do anything else. 😊 I’ll try the gel again b/c of this vid. Wasn’t great for me the first time. My hooded dryers break at the hinges I think b/c they get too hot. I finally bought the one they have in the salons (without the chair attachment) for $300. I love it. I don’t dread dry time anymore!

@BL3SSed-Bliss
@BL3SSed-Bliss 12 күн бұрын
Yes. Uncleansed hair disallows moisture to properly penetrate, hence "build-up". Essentially, it sits atop, giving the illusion of moisture. This is especially true for low[er] porosity strands. It's like oiling your legs without first _cleansing and conditioning_ them. This is why _lotion_ is water-based, so that it can penetrate epidermis.
