Hi hasanaydin22! ah be careful, I have not seen any off-line official versions of the x431. Typically off-line versions of this are bootlegs which is why connecting to Launch is disabled as they can't update or connect to Launch since they are not legitimate. However I would recommend contacting Launch directly if you want to verify if the off-line version you are looking to confirm if is real (I also placed a link the video description to the official X431 listing). Hi David, I'm don't think anyone has tried this since the menu is designed to work with a larger screen not sure it would work but technically an Android tablet is very similar to an Android Phone. You may want to reach out to Launch and confirm that idea would work (please let us know what they say!) Same with the re-installing the APP, you will need to download it off the Launch website using your serial key to be able to re-install it. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Hi I am Her! The scanner will continue to work once the updates expire if you choose not to renew them. The main use for the updates is for the car modules (say for example a new vehicle comes out that didn't exist and you wanted to access it with dealer level scan tool functionality). But unless you are working on a shop environment encountering new cars all the times, I would probably save money by not renewing the subscription or maybe updating it only once in a while but even then I would only do it, if I had to work on a new vehicle that didn't previously exist and was not covered by the scanner at the time of it's last update, otherwise I would be paying for updates that I really won't be using or need. Hi Sheerwill! There is no need to load software. It already comes with it loaded. If your scanner did not come with the Launch software installed, you may have received a fake. Unfortunately there are some counterfeit scanners in the market and sometimes they even infiltrate legitimate sellers online (basically the old switcheroo, someone buys a scanner but returns it, however what they return is a look a like, a fake basically, causing the next person to receive it to get fake, ugh) I think I will eventually make a video on detecting fakes like I did for the memory cards kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNugmNx0ndyZoH0.html My best recommendation is to open the scanner right away when receiving it to inspect it and also confirm your activation code works and has not been tampered with. Hi David! yeah it's definitely an investment that I kept putting off. But now that I need a copy of my key (and considering the dealer wants about $400 for a copy) I figure I can off set cost with this since it can also program keys. Now regarding the air intake triggering a code, that will require either a canned tune or a custom tune. The key is to find a tuner that supports either the Jet tuner or the DSP one. Most can do them remotely and email them to you (for basic bolt-on's like exhaust and intake) you can also take it to a local tuner for one done in the dyno which does have the advantage that they can extract even more power out of the car and confirm everything is working well with the dyno...

@@AlexAutoFun great point about purchasing that device to duplicate your keys. You could have a great small business income by copying keys for people. Yeah unfortunately the canned tunes that were in the jet and the Diablo sport neither one of them gave me the options of adding a cold air intake just tire size and turning the fans on earlier and some other miscellaneous items. I should have done more research on the Diablo sport because I thought there canned tuned that came in the programmer gave me the options to tell it if I had a cold air intake or other mods. There's a couple of speed shops locally I'm going to have to go over there and price it out with the dyno tune would cost. There's one guy on the Diablo sport forums that will email you a tune but he wants you to do data logging for like a couple of weeks then send him that information any builds the tune , then he sends it back to you. To do the data logging he wants several hundred miles of runtime and I don't do several hundred miles in a few months. 😂. I may email the guy on the forums and ask him what's the minimum data logging time I can do just for him to change the settings for just a cold air intake and maybe improve the transmission shift firmness and a few other small improvements. It's always something man you know!! Keep up the great reviews and talk to you later. 😊

If you contact Launch they may be able to get you a copy of the APP (they will probably ask for your serial number and security key that comes with the device when you buy it) however I don't think you can load the APP in a device that is not the Launch unit (Launch does not work with generic OBD2 dongles, it needs the original OBD2 dongle) Hope this helps, and please let us know what you find. Hi Tim! ah if you forgot your user name or if you have set a password and have lost it, remember, the X431 is standard Android tablet so you can follow the same process to reset your user name and password as any Android tablet. You can also contact Launch for tech support, they should be able to help you with their software (the App). However the Android OS, that is a separate thing not developed by Launch so they may be limited on what they can help you with that side of the tablet. Cheers!

Hi DRBaathman! a check engine light should not prevent you from remote starting your car (assuming the car starts normally with physical key). Sounds like this mechanic may just go inside the dash and remote the light bulb or place electrical tape over the area so the check engine light is not visible to the driver. Not sure if that is what you are looking for but I know some people have done it when they don't want to see the light (however remember if you leave in a area subject to smog inspection, having a disabled MIL (either physically or electronically via OBD2) will cause the car to fail inspection) Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun I don't want not to see it that's not my issue I have a simple obd when I clear the errors of the engine I can remote switch on the car while I am at home before getting to the car but it is temp so when the check engine is back on this feature is not working

Hi prawny12009! that is a good question, I think it's going to depend on what level of factory reset you perform. If you do standard one where all the Apps and files are left in place you are likely not going to loose the software. If you want to do a full reset where the tablet memory is completely wiped then I would recommend downloading a copy of the X431 software before you blank the tablet out (visit the Launch site to download a copy of the software) If you don't want to go thru Launch, I would make a back up copy of the app itself (the apk file) before erasing the tablet memory. @@AlexAutoFun I finally found the codes on the paper after 3 days of looking....then I put in the numbers on the sheet... It was even the same serial number from my login. But when I tried to activate the VCI again it told me that the serial number that I had put in is incorrect even though it is the same one from my login..... I wonder if I have downloaded the wrong software. Do you have a place where I can look for the software again??

@ChaplainK Oh man that is good you got the key (huge win) now regarding downloading the software, my understanding is that Launch has to be contacted for it, hopefully they will help you with a copy of it. @@AlexAutoFun I called them and told them I was able to log in, and when I logged in it showed the same SN in my profile.....then they told me that S/N did not exist......so I asked why it was showing in my log in...and she could not answer my question...
