Miller was collecting laundry at 7:57am when the "Battle Stations" alarm sounded. USS West Virginia was heavily damaged by bombs, torpedoes and was on fire.
Being a Black American he wasn’t weapons trained, this did not stop him, he jumped into the fight at the helm of a .50-caliber machine gun blasting away at Japanese planes until he ran out of ammo.
Out of a crew of 1300, Doris Miller was one of the last three men to leave the sinking ship rescuing men as he swam ashore.
His actions defending his country against the Japanese made him perhaps the most famous Black Americans of WWII.

Sadly, he will only be remembered by those of us with a real interest in history who study on our own. Today's schools don't teach true history, but rather a revisionist form of history which would never recognize the heroism and patriotism of this remarkable man. I saw the results of a recent study that found nearly 75% of Americans under 35 years old could not even identify the nations we fought against in WWII. Do you think they remember Doris Miller? Sometimes in Battle some men just turn into Fighting machines, showing unbelievable courage. Like William D. Mc Gee, who ran into a minefield to save two wounded soldiers and then got injured by a mine and told others to back off. He is buried at the American Cemetery in Luxembourg which i visited today

I know everyone says the animation keeps getting better and better, but I have to say it again. The models on the aircraft are very well done. Paint fade on the leading edges, scrapes up and down the fuselage, and animation while flying is fantastic. Idk how many people you have animating these, but they should be proud of their work! Very well done!

Very good video once again! Though I must say, I am happy my State’s battleship and her crew was in the spot light for once. Also fun fact for those who don’t know, West Virginia was recovered after sinking. Really it is a interesting story how they recovered all those battleships and highly suggest looking into it.

Mitsuo Fuchida (淵田 美津雄, Fuchida Mitsuo, 3 December 1902 - 30 May 1976) was a Japanese captain[1] in the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service and a bomber aviator in the Japanese navy before and during World War II. He is perhaps best known for leading the first wave of air attacks on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. Working under the overall fleet commander, Vice Admiral Chūichi Nagumo, Fuchida was responsible for the coordination of the entire aerial attack. After the war ended, Fuchida became a Christian evangelist and traveled through the United States and Europe to tell his story. He settled permanently in the United States (although he never became a U.S. citizen).

My great grandma experienced the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 dec 9th. She was helping my great grandpa pull out crops that morning for breakfast then they saw thick dark smoke in the distance and not long after zeros are flying over the neighborhood. My great grandma and grandpa go inside and go into the basement for cover while they can feel the ground shaking from bombs exploding near by. Till this day we still have the same house and we have two bullet holes from the zeros guns.
