@@arthurfricchione8119 Thank you. He is sitting here with me watching farm videos. He was in from 81-85. He loved it. His Dad was also a Navy Airdale, He was a AMH and retired from Delta after many years wrenching. Although my hubby was a tweet he went to school after hours on base and got his A&P. He ended up getting into Structures work at airlines and kept going to school. He earned a AS and a BS from Embry Riddle in Aeronautical Engineering. He was 34 when he finished college. He worked full time and raised a family while going to college. After 18 years at Northwest Airlines he left and took a job with Lockheed Martin on the C-5 Galaxy program as an Engineer. He is about to pass 20 years there. Funny thing is all he wants to do is play in the dirt with his tractors. Lol

Like the big sight window on the cart, better than the small windows on ours, definitely prefer righthand side unload auger, just have to make sure it is folded before returning to the combine, otherwise they can bump swords and usually the combine auger comes off second best. Thankfully I haven't done it yet, but have seen it happen on our farm

Laura, John Deere is the best equipment on the market. As a John Deere owner and operator myself, I can say that John Deere is extremely reliable. My dad owns a John Deere 5065E that came fresh off the assembly line with an H240 front loader and a bucket. I’ve driven that tractor a few times and used it to fix my driveway transition before a friend of mine came and fixed my driveway. Plus I helped fix my driveway transition. I can tell you that as the asphalt cools and knits, it gets harder and harder to spread. My dad’s tractor is perfect for what he does around the property, plus it can serve as a backup vehicle for when his car’s in the shop either getting inspected, serviced, or new brakes. Most recently, he used his 5065E to come up to take my puppy for a walk.

I'm a CPA and I used to work in a forestry community in British Columbia Canada where we had a lot of logging clients. Every year there was a big logging equipment show where all the equipment suppliers would come to show the latest equipment. You could see the excitement in the eyes of these big loggers when they came back home. Kind of like when a prospector finds gold. That's what I'm seeing in your eyes right now with this new tractor and grain cart. Happy harvest.

He had a 1954 John Deere R, a 1967 JD 4020, a Case 1070, and a 1984 Case 2390. When he passed away in 2011, my cousin bought the farm ground and I was pushed out of the business. It's going to be really hard to send that grain cart back... it was sa-weet! Of course the tractor was! What a great demo! Her dad made some great comments about it being good for the high winds (so wide), low height and being able to see inside as it fills plus the scale feature. I liked the window on it and how h-yuuuge the cart was. Putting lovely Laura's smiling face there to demo these to the youtube world (potential customers out there) was a good business/PR move indeed! I'll bet that Grant will remember those spots with the hidden berms and ruts that bent up the snoots? Maybe take a dozer or a track hoe out there after harvest and shave them off, fill them in or find a way to mark them (can these be marked/tagged with the Ag Leader?) so as to be aware of them for the next time? Or will the storm runoff just carve them out again? Just a thought from some random guy on the interweb who's never corn or bean farmed... lol. Nice story about papa Curt, grandma and the Fischer house! I guess I'm gonna have to buy a Laura Farms tee shirt now? Maybe get her and Grant to sign it this February? So that means I'll have to buy at least two since the autographed one won't be worn to ruin the signatures when washed.. lol.

You can use a heat gun to carefully take the buckling and dents out of those corn head cones. Wear good gloves when you try it. Two people make it much easier...one to heat and hold the softened part in place and one to mist water on the plastic to set it quicker once it is reshaped. Heat guns vary so start out on a lower setting and adjust from there as needed. You want to just barely get the plastic pliable to reset it's shape. If you get it too hot, too fast, you will have a mess.
