Күн бұрынFor the first time in history, all five UK and NI poet laureates are women. For WOW 2014, we brought Carol Ann Duffy, Liz Lochhead, Gillian Clarke, Paula Meehan, and Sinéad Morrissey together for a celebratory performance and their first joint reading.

I had the honour and pleasure to attend a workshop with Paula some years ago in Dromineer and all I can say is that she is the warmest and kindest of Ladies. She has ancestral, Brigid quality about her approach to poetry that stays with you long after.

For the sake of accuracy, Paula Meehan at this time,was Ireland Professor of Poetry, the Irish equivalent of poet laureate - not a UK laureate.
