I remember Larry and 'Cis' or 'Sis' or whatever the spelling is?, ..................and wondering what that name was short for? They walked up the lane.......to the Northway........................'ah yes the road most taken'. I remember Paula Meehan swinging on the lamp-post outside McLaughlin's, blond hair waving and pinkish coat. First clockwise then back again anticlockwise. The Laneway Is forty two too old to be forever young? For me it is, as I have long passed it by I felt old as I left the laneway behind At the ripe old age of twenty 29 The laneway was handy, but despised The kids kicked a ball up and down The green was often metamorphosed Never auspicious for cap and gown The Northway sucked red faces in The 'fisher' smelled, but saved some dimwits The laneway is now gone, no more din And I have outlived it The Begrudger.
