Today we're talking about popular Christian figures Lauren Daigle and Chris Pratt, who both separately found themselves in the news recently. In an interview promoting her new album, Lauren Daigle was asked what she thought of her state's abortion laws. Her response was that she didn't know and couldn't comment on it. This isn't the first time she's chosen not to address hot-button cultural issues. We discuss the ongoing trend of Christians believing that God is too harsh and mean and that we need to downplay it by playing dumb or refusing to learn what the Bible actually says. This essentially just creates an excuse for Christians to be ignorant about what the Bible actually says. On the other hand, Chris Pratt was asked about his faith during a movie premiere, and his answer is shockingly encouraging coming from a mainstream celebrity. Then, Biden recently claimed that white supremacy is the greatest threat to our nation. We explain why this is not only untrue, but also shameless pandering. We take a look at a story of a BLM activist who accused a white student of hateful behavior, subsequently getting her publicly shamed and practically expelled. The problem? There is no proof that it actually happened. We discuss who is actually in power here and why it matters so much.

I'm a Christian Mother of seven children, 6 of which are boys, they are all adults now aged 19 to 31. Unfortunately two of my sons have declared that they are gay. It breaks my heart that they have made that choice for themselves, however they know my stance on this issue. They know I love them despite their sin, but they know it is sin but to accommodate themselves to their sin they now claim disbelief in God. One of my sons who claims to be gay and will be 30 this year, now says he is non-binary ,he even hates the fact that I will not deter from my biblical convictions about the sin of homosexuality. I represent a constant reminder of his sin and hates me for it, he calls me names and blames his misfortunes on my unacceptance of his lifestyle. My other son who says is gay is convinced that it is the way he was born and that he wants nothing to do with God who doesn't accept him for who he is. Both my sons were encouraged to give into these lifestyles by their public Highschool. I love them, I pray each day for them, whenever they need help with anything, I help out of godly love for them , and because I love them as God ordains, they know I can't condone their sin. It is difficult to see my sons walk this path as I see the suffering they've brought upon themselves but I love them enough to tell them the truth about the consequences of their unrepentant sins.

I'd like to encourage you to look into the incredible testimony of the Yuan family. They recently visited our church. If you've seen the movie War Room, the prayer room depicted in that movie was inspired by Angela Yuan's prayer room and prayer life as she prayerfully battled the grip that homosexuality had on her son and their family. Now she and her son, Christopher, have a co-authored book "Out Of A Far Country" that captures their Prodigal Son story.

One of my biggest issues with some Christian music: not being able to tell if they're singing about Jesus or their boyfriend. I really liked Lauren Daigle's 1st album...since then, most of her songs could be played on a pop station and no one would have a clue they were "Christian". So disappointing.

@bethanyfaber2012 I completely understand what you are saying, and I used to feel the exact same way. However, just recently it has occurred to me that when I am speaking to someone I feel close to, I seldom, if ever, use their name within the conversation. So now I feel ok about singing worshipful songs that may not contain God's name as long as they do not contradict Biblical truth.♥️

I listened to a sermon by the late Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, the famous Bible preacher, last night on Ephesians 6:10-13, and was really impressed by his tone straight through the sermon. I mean, it was BOLD-not because he was saying anything harsh, but simply because he was saying exactly what he meant, while not simultaneously apologizing. He acknowledged that the verses he was quoting sound harsh to modern audiences (like 1 John 2:4 calling certain people "a liar"), but he maintained that such is the true and valid teaching of Scripture, and that we must live it out. It was not a sermon tailored to the emotions, except those related to bravery and valor. It was a sermon about being a Christian soldier. (I've recently learned the New Testament is full of Greek military terms.) I thought, "How far many of our current pastors have fallen in the area of bold declaration, by comparison to Jones's reasonable yet robust tone. 😞 " And how far society has fallen in its ability to hear raw biblical truth.

Chris Pratt... really. There's lots of people that can quote some scripture at the right moment. The dude literally attends one of the most unbiblical mega churches out there (Hillsong), he uses the Lord's name in vain plenty in his films and especially his recent series (The Terminal List), his fruit isn't consistent with Christianity. I'm sorry, I refuse to applaud him for quoting some scripture. Satan quoted scripture too. I get the guy catches a lot of grief for his supposed faith, but I just don't see it. Having better than average morals and quoting scripture, doesn't make a person a christian. I've heard many interviews with Chris Pratt and he's immersed in the prosperity gospel. He'll tell you all day that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life, but that's not the gospel, and he will never mention sin, hell, judgment, or the biggest thing, the cross of Christ. Again, I don't buy it. I pray he grows in his knowledge of the Lord and that he truly does have real faith in the real Christ that scripture describes.

I don’t think Chris Pratt was wrong for not giving his ex and kid’s mother a shout out for Mother’s Day. Like Allie said- we don’t know their relationship and if it is amicable or not. I, personally, would be irritated if my husband gave his son’s mother (his ex) a shout out for Mother’s Day, but that’s only because of their situation. Sure, she is a decent mother, but she often uses her son to get back at my husband, she doesn’t contribute her fair share of taking care of her son, she degrades and harasses both my husband and I, and the list goes on. Not trying to be rude, but why go out of your way to celebrate a person like that? I think it just depends on everyone’s specific situation, and of course it’s a nice thing to do to give your ex and kid’s mother a shout out, but I don’t think it should be expected either.

Allie, the last time I was in school was 1998 when I finished a Master's degree. Yet, I still have "the school dream" to this day, though it is less frequent in the last few years. It is very distressing. Not only do I realize that I have a midterm or a final and haven't attended the class more than once, but I also can't find the classroom. I'm in Cramer Hall or Lincoln Hall and I'm frantically searching for the classroom and I end up in a building that houses a Junior High. I can't find my way back to the University, so I end up going outside (sometimes by way of a dark, cold stairwell with cobwebs and rusty steel doors that lead to who knows where). But now I'm outside and I'm at my old High School from 1979-81. Sometimes, I do end up in the right classroom, but the wrong time or day.

I always question Lauren’s music & theology because most of what I heard & things my worship studies professor told me that I know are red flags & to not consider Christian music. 1)If God/Jesus’s name is not mentioned frequently 2)No theology or Bible scriptures referenced or mentioned in the music. 3)The sing can be misinterpreted to a significant other or someone but God. Most of Lauren’s songs have check all 3 & I can’t listen to her songs the same. It looks like she from what I heard when her new album was coming out that it mattered more for her music to be heard than the message of God in the music when she talked about it in Air1 Radio. She shouldn’t be silent to stand up for God on the tough topics if she has a big platform. Definitely a artist I wouldn’t ever go to see that looks to be a questionable Christian

My go at dream interpretation: For Pete Davidson, I know he has publicly said he has BPD. You had that recent guest who was talking about how excessive screen time has induced symptoms that mimic BPD in adolescents/young adults so maybe he was representing the idea that we will still be relying on this rising generation to be responsible/capable? For the unprepared at school dream, I do think that correlates with life transitions and feeling unprepared/like you could be blindsided by the change

I think the recurring dream has to do with fear of failure, self confidence and possibly maturity. I say this bc I had recurring nightmares like this. I'm a nurse and I'd have nightmares that alarms were going off so i run into a patient room. I can't figure out what alarm is going off and other people run in. They ask what's going on and i say idk. They ask who's the nurse and i say idk. Then someone says it's my patient and why don't i know what's going on and how long have i ignored this patient. I look at the clock and it's end of shift so i ignored this patient for 12 hours! I would wake up in bed and panick bc i thought I'd fallen asleep during an emergency. I'd have to "soothe" myself by reminding myself that i was in my own bed which was at home not the hospital. This has driven me to be fairly obsessive about what is going on with my patients as well as pushed me into critical care so i could understand how to rake care of the sickest. By being thorough in my end of shift care and assessment i can reassure myself that i did everything possible. I also started telling myself that i always do my best. My best may vary day to day. Some days it means i kept everyone breathing. Other days it means i can sit with someone who is lonely or confused. I've been a nurse for more than 20 years and i seldom have that dream any more. So idk which factor helped or maybe all of them. Being confident in my skills, being mature and having seen so much, having WAY more self confidence in my skills and having strong skills... All can impact the need for my mind to need to worry about things undone or responsibilities not fulfilled

My recurring dreams (they’re not as frequent as they used to be) are about the homes I used to live in as an adult. After we sold our first home, and then second home years later, I would frequently dream that I was in my old house painting and decorating them while the owners were gone! The 2nd house was my favorite home, and that’s the one I would dream about more frequently … finally 15 years after selling the 2nd home, the dreams are fewer now🥰
