Becket and Kim revisit the past and go through how Kim responded when she first discovered that Becket was “gay” to when he brought his boyfriend home for Christmas to Becket getting saved. She reveals what was going through her mind as a Christian when meeting up with Becket for coffees. Kim explains what she did and how she prayed for Becket all those years. ABOUT BECKET:
Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from Austin College in Texas, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.
Becket’s book, A Change of Affection: A Gay Man’s Incredible Story of Redemption, with a
foreword by Francis Chan, published by Thomas Nelson, released July 30, 2019.

10:57 Becket Cook I find it very odd that you used gay in quotation marks as if it doesn't exist. Christianity obviously teaches that same gender loving people exist. You believe it is a sin and I understand that. Can I ask you a question? Have you ever heard someone say, (when I was a "sinner") It's almost like you are treating it like a person trying to stay sober from Alcohol. The alcohol is so tempting that you don't even like saying the word. Same gender loving people isn't like alcohol but I understand your childhood indoctrination have you treating what you know you are like alcohol. I never heard or seen someone put sinner in quotation marks. Very odd.

? Not sure what you mean? I never thought that anyone who was gay and their own mind could ever be anything but gay in their own mind I am a Christian but I am not liberal in that sense, so I always thought if you’re gay you’re gay that’s how you were born that’s how you are and maybe it’s not what God wants but it’s just a kid the situation, so I don’t know exactly what you mean in your comments, but I think that Becca Cook has gone through some sort of change that he feels is right is godly and that he can live with, and he’s married to a woman. It is his right to say something to do so we have no right to judge him. Either way for that. It is his journey, not our journey, so God bless him either way, and I hope that he’s happy and I hope his family is happy.

Let's join the army of godly moms who will not accept the lies of Satan. We will come boldly to the throne of God where we will find grace to keep believing that He can do exceedingly more than what we can pray and ask. We trust in the Almighty God. There's nothing too difficult for Him. His arm is not short that he can't save, or his ears dull that He can't hear. He is at work in our children even now!!! He's a mighty God. He's pleased to give us good gifts. What's a better gift than a child filled with the Holy Spirit saved by Jesus worshipping the Heavenly Father!!??? We cry out for these lost souls. Give us, Lord, these men! Turn them away from darkness and confusion to sound mind Jesus proclaiming men of God! Oh, God!!! Do it! We paise you and thank you, in Jesus' name. Amen!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Nothing like a praying mother like my mom. She fasted for me many times over during my life. My mother has incredible stories/testimonies about her days/nights of fasting over me when no one else could get to me. The lord reached me by the devotion of my mother for sure! I was never treated differently when I was in the lifestyle but the destructive choices I made had folks unsure where I’d end up from one day to the next. So that protection of God came from my mother and other Christian’s. One of my friends back in the day told me when I was in the lifestyle, God loved me in my sin but he had so much more for me than the life I was leading. And she was so right! I had no peace, I had no direction and I had no true vision of where my life was going. Years after the conversation I had with my friend, I got saved…AND! For the first time, understood what she meant. Wow! The clarity of my mind and spirit was so renewed and refreshed-years of leading by emotions instead of faith was such an eye opener. Like Becket, I couldn’t get into the Bible AT ALL! After I allowed the Lord to direct my path, the Bible came alive!

(2) Have other people in the family and Church pray for your son. (3) If possible, try to work with a ministry helping the homeless or addicted. May the Grace of God be with you every day and the Holy Spirit fill you with Wisdom.

I grew up in church, but was only saved about 5 years ago so I feel a lot of guilt over not having given my son a strong enough foundation of faith to see him through college and beyond. I cry a lot over this and cry out to God but so far my son has only grown more anti-God and church. He even posts snide remarks about Christianity and Christians on Facebook. 100%. This is really encouraging. There are many people I pray for, or I've felt compelled to pray for - and I always pray that their eyes would be opened to the truth, and their hearts not hardened to the gospel and for God to have mercy and pour His goodness on them, because that is what causes people to repent. Sometimes you never know how much your prayers are impacting person. Its really awesome when you find out they have come to God.

This is how I prayed for my sister for 20+ years, just come to Christ and let me know does at peace with Him. I had to trust God would just do the rest, but I had to remain firm in my conviction of God's Word. And then she was diagnosed with cancer, 7 weeks later she emailed the family to acknowledge she'd made her peace with God, she wanted to be baptized, then she went into palliative care shortly after and died. I never asked for God to heal her on earth, just to verify she knew Christ as her Savior, and let God do the rest . He chose to take her Home and heal her there. I'm so grateful 🙏

Thank you for this. What has happened in my family is that my husband and I have been cut off completely. Our son did not want to hear our belief that marriage is between a man and a woman open toward children. Saying that to him was the equivalent of rejecting him. I said we should be able to have different views and still love each other. His reply was that I didn't get it. And now no communication. I pray for his conversion every day and put him in God's hands.

I watched this last night. I felt a need to pray for my husband Steve and my family and friends last night. I asked God to save Steve from evil plan Satan had and that we rebuke any schemes over our lives. Steve came home and told me last night at work he almost lost his leg. That a toe motor exploded next to him and he felt the heat on his leg. Hot coolant was flowing out like a geyser. He said I couldn’t believe my leg didn’t have a burn. I told him I prayed for him last night and God saved him. 🙏🏻 We are always fighting a spiritual battle and Kim help remind me to get on my knees and fight. ❤️

I've got to be honest about the Rapture as I've heard it expressed in Christian Culture, I too am unsure it will happen as expressed. I try to go with Scripture. Strange as it may come across I don't dis-believe it either. I just don't know wither way. Thankfully believing in the Rapture as expressed in human terms has no bearing on my or any other Christians Salvation. There's a lot of Scripture I still don't get, but same situation, it doesn't affect my Salvation outcome! I believe without doubt that Jesus is who Scripture told us He would be, who he, Jesus, told us who He was during His time here as fully Human, yet still God. I believe He died for me on the Cross, paid in full for my sin, same as everyone who is His, I believe the hundreds of witnesses who saw Him after His Resurrection, that He ascended into Heaven having fulfilled Scripture that had pointed to His coming (as expressed in the Old Testament) earlier. Actually, it was the old Testament that nailed who He is for me, you could hear/read Him expressed over the generations covered by the Old Testament. I'd been a Christian for several years before finally reading both the Old and New Testaments cover to cover, it just washed away so much doubt, it also confirmed Scripture from the New Testament (2 Peter 1:19) for me, I fully understood what that meant after reading/hearing the Old Testament, it's there, it's so amazing! For me it washed away any argument I might have had, and believe me when I say I had times of doubt. Doubt is not bad if you are still searching for the Truth, when truth comes it is so much more securely anchored in the heart and mind of the believer, that's how it was for me anyway! I'm open to the possibility of the Rapture as expressed in Christian Culture, it would fit with 'called up to meet Him in the sky,' but belief in 'The Rapture' in no way affect's my or anyone elses Salvation, it's one of those things I pray for more clarity on, but should I not receive an answer, I remain secure in who I know Jesus is and what He has accomplished, in obedience to the Father's Will for all that are His! We must also never believe we are Spiritually ahead of others who may doubt something like this, that is a danger area for anyone let alone a Christian, our nemesis Pride is a huge stumbling block in such thinking! I know He's coming back (not when, one should hightail it from date setters), that is enough for me until the Holy Spirit illumines me any further. My hardest task has always been allowing Christ to lead in all things, and I do rather expect that may be an ongoing thing, no surprises there, I lack perfection until either He comes, or I go to be with Him!

This was very inspirational. I want to be that kind of a mom - the one that prays for her children. And I know I fall short so often. But I just want my children to grow up knowing God and walking with him. When I think of so many Christian children who stray away as they grow up, I just want God to have mercy and keep my children in his ways. As a mom there’s only so much I can do.

It's true, there's only so much you can do. So go to God, hold your Bible, read it and pray the Bible over your children. Do it! The most important thing is the soul of your child, not what they eat, wear, know, schooling, etc. I finally understand the Bible verse that says "pray without ceasing". It means constant communion with God, speaking to Him, meditating over Scripture, trusting and turning to Him! He loves us and he is mighty to save! Be encouraged today, Friend! God has given you a very important job! 🙏♥️♥️♥️

I think something that she has that probably helped you feel loved by her was that her relationship with God is real and it is what it is. It doesn’t seem to be a show, and she doesn’t seem to be pretending. So, her bringing up of God in conversations is logical because He’s an undeniable part of her life. I think there are times for debating, and intentionality is good, but we really do need the word and prayer to give us more discernment on how to balance all of those things. Hearing the content of that email was such a joy. PTL for all of the stories of people turning to the Lord!

The scripture in the book of Acts was unbelievably timely. Like a "Rema" word. I'm sure it would have been chaotic, but it would have been a huge blessing to have your entire family on the show, that would have been classic! Maybe a future Christmas special "Back home with the Cook's"?!? In speaking to children who are coming out, that is a precarious cliff to be on, I told my family that if they didn't accept my lifestyle, they didn't need to be in my life. I never proposed an option. What I say goes, type of thing. I did apologize to them when I rededicated my life to the Lord. It is so important to be connected to God's Holy Spirit so we can know how to handle our family members "coming out" because only Jesus knows exactly what is needed in every unique situation. Blessings to you brother.

Mr. Cook, please pray for me and my children. My husband husband of 29 years came out and has fully embraced the gay lifestyle. What is scary is that he was a minister of gospel for many years. I am devastated, I don’t understand how someone can walk away from Christ knowing what the Bible says about this. I need a miracle and if it is the Lord’s will a full restoration of our marriage and family

This is such a vital ministry. You were a last step in God preparing me for ministry with young people. I studied ministry in the 80s, but felt I had too many problems & gave it up, right at the end of my degree/ finishing a major in theology. I told my own youth minister of this decision at the time. Recently, I was reunited with her, decades later, right during a period of praying to be shown which route to go to volunteer at Church. I have seen miracles & proof of Jesus, so felt I could not bake the cupcakes or something ignoring what God has given me. I was like Moses in the desert for 40 years, after hearing a calling. I have spent massive time with God, Bible study, listening to sermons/ talks, walking with God, preparing to be an artist by calling. I was led to seek God the next morning, to start my day, with everything going wrong. I had found this Becket Cook ministry just days ago/ listening a lot. It gave me courage to get my 'beliefs' right amid cultural pressure. The very next thing, as I face an appointment about youth ministry at my church, I pray & read a daily Bible devotion, & it is about Moses being called to lead the children of God out of darkness, who have been lied to by the world, & are injured in various ways. Thanks for helping prepare me for finally working in ministry. Praise God.
