The main reason why Natty's solo was released first is because he debut has been WIDELY anticipated of almost a decade. Natty was in Sixteen, the survival show that formed Twice in 2015, at the age of 12-13 as a JYP. She was so good to the point where she even beat Momo in a dance battle, but was eliminated because of her age. She was also in Idol school, the survival show that formed Fromis_9 in 2017-2018. She was regarded as one of the best vocalists amd dancers in the show and would have debuted of it wasn't rigged (proven). In 2020, she debuted as a soloist, though it wasn't too successful, the songs were still good. When she finally debuted in Kiof, the popularity of her and the group skyrocketed. Sugar oat also ended up becoming one of the biggest songs of 2023 in South Korea and has been constantly charting for the 9 months since its release, as well as being in many top 20s for the best Kpop song of 2023.

Their solos are supposed to be similar to their journey to kiss of life, not exactly what happened but similar enough. Natty moved to Korea at 11 alone to be a trainee so she felt very lonely and out of place just being that young and not having a support system in Korea which is why that shop keeper treated her like she didn’t belong. Belle’s story is about how she felt like she was supposed to act a certain way and be perfect rather than authentic. Her father is a famous singer in Korea and she became a professional song writer very young so I imagine she felt a lot of pressure from the people around her to be talented and perfect. Julie’s is probably the most ambiguous but to me it seems like a story of self destruction and self sabotage. The lyrics are talking about how she will hurt people who get close to her and the people she’s around clearly enable her self destruction. Haneul’s is about how she was very shy and quiet but was pulled out of her shell. She became popular but her story is continued in “shhh” where suddenly because she became popular this boy was attempting to take advantage of her. To me it seems like when haneul became a trainee and finally established herself as talented, she started having more attention from agencies and stuff but because she was so new to all of it, people tried to take advantage of her naïveté towards success in the industry. Then kiss of life found haneul (in reality julie, natty, and Belle all recommended haneul as the last member for kiof so it’s pretty accurate!) and essentially saved her!! This is at least what I concluded I’d love to hear more thoughts in the comments :)

Kiss of Life is my ult group. I discovered them about a week after they'd debuted and I've been closely following them since. I love them very much and I'm happy to see more and more people getting to know these amazingly talented girls. (It's been a year and I still cry to Bye My Neverland)

Belle and Julie carried Natty to Julie's car and carry Natty to Julie's house so it isnt Natty's choice to hangout on someone's house, and you can see in 'Shhh' she tried to leave but Julie blocked her and force her to recover in her house

The creative director of Kiss of Life is Lee Hae In. She was the number one scorer in the final round of Idol School but was cheated and didn't debut. From the disclosure of the investigation results of the case She knew Natty from that show.

For me this was no doubt the best debut of 2023. I absolutely love how the group concept and the music videos were molded to fit each member individually & personally (Granted it may be quite exaggerated for the sake of the MVs but it mirrors the way each of them came together irl to form the group! like how in the MV, haneul was the last to join the other three girls, and also there’s a theory that Natty falls two times alluding to how irl she didn’t make it in Sixteen and Idol School). Not the other way around of having a concept already formed before choosing members, then trying to mold the members into it. It sets them apart from other groups in such a raw, “perfectly imperfect” way. I also love that the creative director is part of the target audience herself (around the same age as the members too), and is great friends with all of the girls (and has had a long time connection with Natty, since they were both in Idol School) so she KNOWS the girls and understands their style and what they need to showcase/amplify each one’s strengths. Each member has insane qualities and prior feats of their own, it’s so cool to see them come together to form the full picture!! Kiss of Life is 100% my fav group rn

Their debut rollout was so smart, perfectly highlighting the members individually (with them partecipating in writing/composing!) I''m a debut fan but I still can't choose a bias for the life of me, however my favorite solo is Play Love Games, it has a musical/theater vibe that you don't often hear in kpop and Haneul delivered it perfectly!

I will just copy paste my recent comment from another video as it got a bit of traction and was seemingly helpful: Natty's story in the MV is representative of her real life story: Natty has been in over 6 companies over 10 years fighting for debut. She joined the reality show SIXTEEN which is the show that made Twice at the age of 12 years and 11 months old, by herself from Thailand (she came to Korea at 10). She literally made it to the very final episode but was eliminated not because she wasn't good enough but because she was too young to debut. Was on the show Idol School, didn't make the final lineup (it was proven to be rigged). She trained in JYPE. she trained in SM with the Red Velvet girls and shared a dorm with them. She literally knows everyone. She had a solo debut and still had to go back to work being a trainee. She has had a very long, hard road despite her immense talent. This is the reason she has so many personal fans and so much of the industry loves her and she has many friends and a lot of respect. When you said 'man Natty is having a really shitty day' it's because this has been her life up to this point. 'Failing' again, and again, rejected, again and again, struggling again and again. In the MV when she falls down and gets back up she tries to get back up and walk like she's fine because that's what she did in real life even though she was obviously hurting. No one helps her and they all just watch her struggle and fall and struggle to get back up again on her own because...that's what they did in real life. She has been fighting for over 10 years but finding these other 3 girls is when everything comes together and starts to be okay because they finally have each other. Their talents, goals and energy match perfectly and they've found their perfect place together in this group of 4. edit:for ages edit: forgot to mention that's why she's homeless in the MV, she literally didn't have a company/home (it's hard enough being a trainee for 10 years at 1 company not knowing if you'll ever debut but to not have even that stability and be bouncing around form place to place not knowing what's going to happen and being constantly rejected...poor baby I'm so happy she finally made it

To be fair for other members's solos, Natty's earned so much higher number of views was also becuz she's Thai. In Thialand, K-pop fan community is quite large and grew huge by Lisa/BP era. Natty had been known for a long time and Thai fans witness how hard she worked to get through 10 years of failure, difficulty and strugling. A decade is enough time for many trainees to give up their dream, surrender and quit, but not for Natty. So when Natty re-debut with Kiss of Life, many Thai fans threw themselves in to support such fighter, wanting this time to be her Spring after a very long cold Winter.

Def check out their 2nd comeback album called “born to be XX” I know you reacted to the title tracks nobody knows and bad news, but the rest of the album is very underrated and good!! Also the bside to Midas touch “nothing” it’s my fav song of theirs so far. Always love your reactions and to hear your thoughts. I loved how you mentioned that you hoped this group inspired people to not be bystanders against SA specifically and I didn’t even think abt that but it rlly resonated with me.

Too complex, picking a bias on Kiof honestly. I picked Julie at first... And it never changed. But holy moly, they are all amazing. Natty's story is crazy... the "never give up" was made for her. Belle is an amazing singer, yes. But her personality is really interesting aswell. Julie said several times... "Belle is our trouble maker" (because she is like "free spirit") And i found it really cute (and great). Haneul is simply an ace. I cant believe how she can do everything right, like... how? And she is young... and improved A LOT in this short time.
