That was the most informative, understandable video I've ever seen about volcanoes. Good job! I can get an idea of size, speed, the rain interaction, the inevitability and straight up luck of different structures. Many videos switch perception or directions so fast you can never really get an idea of the actual speed. This was great. Watching it again so I can show husband.

When we were in Hawaii. The tour guide told us that it takes about two hundred years before vegetation to grow after a lava flow.

I visited that exact parking lot the following year and saw the hardened lava that burned through the fence and flowed down the hill.

I remember thinking it was coming to California when I was small 😂

I bet it's a real pain in the ass cleaning that stuff up once it has cooled

would aircraft water drops on the leading edge of lava flow solidify it enough to have a "dam" effect to divert its flow around important buildings or infastructure facilities.or is fighting the flow feutile with modern technology?

That was the most peaceful lava conquering the land video I've ever seen.

Very impressive! Never saw lava that close before...Actually, that even reaches human communities! In Costa Rica we do have three volcanoes erupting at the moment, but the one that spewed lava on its hills, Arenal Volcano, went to sleep. Never been to Hawaii, but now I see something interesting to visit if live gives me the chance to go there. Regards from the Republic of Costa Rica.

Lava is beautiful and terrifying. When nature decides to show up, there's very little we humans or any other animals can do.
