The supreme court has ruled that cops have zero legal duty to protect anyone not in custody. Let that sink in. Generating revenue via law enforcement is their job. Are we ready to wake tf up yet?

@cheddarbeansoup
@cheddarbeansoup 2 жыл бұрын
@@miker03431 the whole system needs to be rearranged because; would more money make you actually willing to risk your life "more"? I don't think so. The proper training, more money, and a secure selection process to really sort out who's made to work for law enforcement and who doesn't. 6 to 8 months training and work in the streets won't make you capable of being "a hero". The ability to put yourself second, does. And that needs mental training, something that can't occur in the short timespan police officers train for. Throw them money to work the system to something better, then raise their wages.

@Churdington
@Churdington 2 жыл бұрын
@@WvlfDarkfire That is kindof ironic, isn't it? People are upset that police aren't exceptional individuals, and that they have done some terrible things. But then they want to defund the police. If you start paying police the salary of a McDonalds employee, then that's the quality of worker you're going to get. Defund the police and you get worse police officers. If we were to raise officer's salaries, then the jobs could be more competitive. They wouldn't have to hire whoever applies, they could actually be very selective about it. If the salary is extremely high, then people will view it as a prestigious job that is worth spending many years in school for. When you think about a high-end job, police doesn't come to mind. Lawyer, doctor, and others do. Imagine if highly intelligent people thought about becoming a police officer instead of a lawyer. The only reason they don't is because police officer is a low paying job and not considered to be a prestigious one.

You don’t know what you would do in the same situation . It’s so easy to watch and say “ why don’t they”, when they have to follow instructions. If you thought you may die in a shoot out would you not want to call a loved one and tell them you loved them? I know I would. It’s hard for the officers as well when they just want to rush in and get the guy but would you rink all those kids being murdered because you rushed in instead of waiting? Could you live with yourself knowing you got more children shot because you rushed in trying to put yourself infront on kids only to get them murdered? No I don’t think so

A lot of this has to do with having seasoned officers used to being leaders. They step up, and make calls that their superiors have taught them. As a vet it grinds my bones to see that many personnel dispatched being stagnant, especially as shots were already fired and continued to be fired. I didn’t see one ounce of training procedures utilized. Zero buddy maneuvers and breaching or clearing. That’s why your partner is watching your six. You had enough people there to cover you clockwise. Yes there is a danger to yourself, but you signed up understanding the risks and the type of path you were choosing. Especially hearing how the safe locks on these doors were abysmal or non existent. Do not call out promoting help when all you did was stand there while you gave up their position if you weren’t going to take action. I had noticed this on the first leaked video. It took them half an hour to realize there was a child inthe room that they were all standing near in below the cctv. Had the shooter gone in that room first and shot that child, he would have bled inside for a good 30 minutes and police stood outside sanitizing their hands trying to be hygienic. They have to follow their useless time consuming protocols, gather around to game plan for an hour and stand behind walls taking cover with their guns pretending to do something hoping the shooter takes care of himself before they have to put themselves in harms way. You would think ONE officer on the force would just say F it there's kids in there dying and run in to ATTEMPT to look for the shooter. Even if they didn't find him they would be a hero for simply trying to do what they are expected and trained to do. It was sick when he asked the radio "Who got shot?" "Just a bunch of children" "Oh ok so no officer's" As if their lives are somehow more important than small children's.

It is not hard to blame these men. As a former soldier we took the same oath as these men. Some of these men are prior soldiers. Clearing buildings is a norm for the infantry soldier. We go through shoot house drills over and over till it gets done right. When those drills are used we don't know what's on the other side of those doors. We just go. Most of the times we are told what buildings to hit and shoot the bad guys when they are identified. I have cleared apartments with multiple teams and waste no time in doing it. I have had buddies get shot on stair cases and we just keep pushing we can't stop or we all fail. These men had time and equipment to get in there. Fire all these men.

Already a bad sign that the first bodycam guy is panicking right from the start. And then I get to watch over a half hour of a big group of police officers just camping at the end of the hallway thinking the shooter is gonna come out instead of trying to push through. I guess they were waiting for shields to arrive or something? But why would they need that when there's enough cops there to use as body shields. But yeah that bodycam 1 guy was panicking wayyyy too hard to the point where it was comical, cursing and freaking out from the start to calling his wife or something thinking he's gonna die, even when he checks a room his voice is so soft and scared to announce itself, it sounded like a scared little boy calling out into the darkness afraid of monsters. Pretty sad.

@@arshenio45 It makes absolutely no difference if there is only one entrance into a classroom. You’re trying to come up with excuses where there are none. The columbine doctrine has long been established & every department in this country MUST follow it. In an active school shooting, officers must IMMEDIATELY get into the building & stop the killing by finding the shooter. If there is only one officer on scene he is OBLIGATED to IMMEDIATELY go in & FIND the shooter. There are no exceptions. There is no waiting for shields, bigger guns, flashbangs, keys (to an unlocked door), or even back up. The policy on this is very, very clear & every single department & officer knows what is expected of them. Over 22 agencies & 367 officers on scene did not do their duty that day. This is the whole reason the parkland officer who did not go in the building is facing criminal charges & it will be the same reason these officers will find themselves in a similar situation, hopefully.

They can’t be charged with not taking down the shooter but they should all somehow be charged with holding a parking lot full of parents (some armed) back while they did nothing. The Supreme Court has already ruled saying officers have no legal obligation to put themselves in harms way to save anyone else but failing to act and physically stopping parents from acting are 2 different things they not only didn’t act they stopped parents from saving their children. One of the officers in this video was the husband of the teacher that got killed and his department stopped him from going in to save his wife as she texts him saying she’s shot/dying. There’s no chance that I’d allow anyone to disarm me or hold me back while my wife and her child students get murdered. That officer weighed out his priorities and chose his job over the life of his wife he wouldn’t have got in any legal trouble for trying to get into that classroom to take out the shooter but he would possibly get fired for disobeying their orders so he decided that losing his wife was more of an acceptable loss than losing his job.

@@Evergreen1400 👍🏻 thanks for the info on that. It brings to mind another concern. If one of the first officers there, said it was his wife’s classroom, how did the other officers claim the gunman barricaded himself in an office? I see the police chief was finally let go.
