Connor, I would like to personally thank you. Your videos that I have been following for 5 plus years have yielded me a lawn that is outstanding. I got the lawn down but I suffer on the flower side. Some content creators have changed their focus more on sales vs. just producing content for what's in their heart. I'm happy to say I'm now 100+ subs lighter which leaves me more time in the lawn. Money is evil, just remember that. Keep being you.

Just wanted to thank you for indirectly letting me know I had poa annua in my lawn. A while back I commented about being annoyed with bluegrass seed heads appearing in my lawn, and you said that you don't get them because you mow often enough. Well that got me thinking because I mow every 2-3 days, then realized what i was seeing wasn't kentucky bluegrass seed heads, it was poa! A right insane infestation of it! So this fall Im going to give it a good barrier of the pre-emergent and see what it does next year.

Well I guess the tree got the last word. Lawn still looks great, with the landscape and flower beds giving it amazing curb appeal. I agree, cultivate, maybe mix in organic compost, seed and cover. Perhaps a backyard standby turf plot is in order for those unexpected accidents, poa invasion, etc. Idk. You'll figure it out.

Looks like you've taken on the trees by the right of your driveway. I'm not a turf pro, but I'd suspect contaminated soil in the area might be the cause of your woes, I suspect you're right with the movement of imazapyr in the soil. I've heard Rey give recommendations of activated charcoal for issues like this in the soil.

I have a yard of shame. My garden, which we didn't plant, is overgrown with weeds, and my entire 1/4 acre is riddled with dandelion and a whole corner is overrun with creeping charlie AND thistle (which is also in the garden!). I'm hoping to get something down this week in hopes to get rid of most of it in time to overseed this fall. The last few years with a newborn and young toddler have made it impossible for me to fix anything.

Connor, did you put a new reel on the Greensmaster when you purchased it? I have a 2010 1000 model that i also bought from a golf course a few ysars ago. Congressional Country Club actually. Kind of cool they used it to cut the tees during the US Open there. It needs a new reel now so im curious if youd bought one.

Anytime you keep your yard as short as you do disease and funguses are an issue waiting to happen. They love short grass, especially ultra short like yours. Let it get a little higher through the middle of the summer and I think you’d see improvements for sure. Then you can always go back to the half inch in the fall and spring.

I just installed sureloc aluminum edging to separate the limestone 2a/limestone dust pathway into my shed, from the mulch bed. Works pretty well so far. Maybe try it on your side of the neighbors mulch bed. Also have you tried putting down late apps of preemergent to stop poa from germinating. Though I read somewhere that was a way to stop poa.
