This is my Generator build. I converted a push/lawnmower into a generator. Then I piped it to run off of wood gas from my gasifier I built. I have videos for each part of this machine as I built it. It is not complete. I have several other things I am adding to this. Subscribe to my channel and click on the notifications for all my upcoming builds and watch this unit grow.

Hey my lawnmower is acting up and I told my wife I'm going to make a gasifier generator. I glad I just ran across another great mind. Congrats.

Nice :) . I have a couple of thousand hours of woodgas generator runtime on my system, here on my little farm. Been off the power grid since 1994, and I am loving it :) .

Amazing display of ingenuity. I never have seen such a contraption. Thanks for showing a wonderful invention of using a cheaper fuel other than gasoline to run the engine. 👍

Great idea and layout. One thing you may want to consider is to add a flywheel to the engine shaft to make it easier to start and run a bit smoother once it does. Lawnmower engines utilize the mower blade as a flywheel for added inertia for starting and it makes for a smoother compression stroke with a bit less vibration.

Holy shit man. I had the idea a couple days ago to build a Jenny out of an old gas powered power washer motor. this takes it to a whole new level. I'm planning on a second gasifier build now. I want a setup like this. You sir are a genius.

I really like the simplicity of this. Once I saw it come together, I thought of a way to simplify a little more. The alternator could be mounted under the deck, directly under the engine shaft, and connected with a lovejoy coupling. That would eliminate the belt, and the energy loss belts require. But your layout is already great.

I like the way you think. As far as the battery bank set-up goes am tossing around several concepts in my head. It's been a bit too cold recently for me to be out working on my trailer, but it's getting nice enough now for me to get back on it.

Sounded like an intake valve was getting sticky from tar, I could hear the valve train slapping. That engine is more likely too small for the gasifier. Those small engines that size are very difficult to run on a raw fuel gasifier to begin with. Even the best machines will make tar as there just is not enough volume to drive the reactions. 500 cc Ive found is about the limit. Any smaller charcoal gasification is a much better solution. They run way more stable, no tar and with the water injection the gas is more powerful.

The wood isn't actually burning in a gassifier, it is super heated in a oxygen restricted environment so the wood off gasses, no flame involved at all. All that off gas is flammable, but impurity's (tar need to be removed or thermoly cracked and turned into a more rich fuel. That is then filter and can power a engine

S1R9A9M9 ran his mower engine on just water in carb, with amps through plug the same time. ( water vapor pressure + small Hydrogen ) A Triple coils assembly was used with plated #14 gray and red copper wire from riding mower chassis. Circuit has 100% on 7turns Magnetic field as 90 degrees over 5 turns of #12 gauge wire for firm frame for the upper 7 turns. see wire with side tap joint #1 to ground, 6-10amps through plug, accessory spark gap, diodes, Timing shifted to -34degrees late timing by the field, the 6-10amps fire only when plug fires through 13 turns. Joint #2 as Hi V + amps together to plug. Water in carburetor changes to water vapor pressure at low end of piston stroke, along with minute amount of hydrogen gas that also fires. Vacuum pulls only level of water engine needs. Electrical Circuit source of resistance to limit current not known. Battery start, battery removed., Circuit runs on onboard dual alternators - Probably AC for field + DC for spark plug amps, (or Bridge rectifier to get 15 A) . High voltage ignition is negative with positive ground. EGR was not applied on Briggs 18HP as was done with earlier car conversions that used sets of obsolete relays. S1R coils was to replace the unusual relays. He called it electromagnet + booster coils.Original spark plug of 4kohm changed to 125ohm QC12YC About 1300 v required to push current through plug. Induction cross voltage leakage from Ignition., or flyback high volts effect from 2MH coil included. Engine ran on water at idle speed and sounds somewhat like a water pump! Parts contained in plastic tub on side of engine with wires coming down from upper engine cowl and all wires wrapped in blk elec tape - it's not just 1 plug wire!. Alternator wires always come out on left side Briggs starter motor. Extension cord , if jumped at the plug end, can be the extra long RETIURN WIRE from bottom of spark plug he said was required and back to tub alt wire. See S1R9A9M9 Videos #1 + #2. at slow speed. Web site shut down....

Awesome ingenuity. One suggestion (if it hasn’t already been mentioned) is have a lever to engage the pulley for the alternator. You can start it easier with no load then ease the pulley in to engage the POWAH! I subscribed

could you put the battery a little closer to your ignition source?
@Saxxsays
@Saxxsays Жыл бұрын
You could pretty much configure it however you would like. I just would not have it too close to the reactor due to the heat. I will eventually have a totally separate shed built to house the power bank and inverters, etc. I have not been working on this project for over a year because I lost my land and got pretty bumbed out. However, I am looking to purchase another track of land in the coming weeks. I will be right back to making these off-grid projects.

Could the gasifier be down sized a bit for a more compact setup? How many watts does it produce? Wood gas is very cool. Excellent work!
@Saxxsays
@Saxxsays 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely it can be downsized. The watts will vary due to each variation from one build to another. The size motor, the size alternator, the size burn tube, the biofuel used, etc. That's just something you would kind of need to play with depending on your particular needs.

Why do you need a battery? What would you need to do to be able to attach residential outlets?
@Saxxsays
@Saxxsays 2 жыл бұрын
Well, doing a battery bank is a good idea for a setup like this. It allows you to store your power and then use it in a twelve-volt system. This way, I can combine solar power and wood gas to keep a charged system. I don't think this gasifier would be suitable for a direct link into a 110-home setup. However, running a good generator off of the gasifier and your home linked into that would work just fine. This gasifier can be very temperamental, I wouldn't want to be in a position to rely soly off the power it creates in real-time. You could be fighting the burn too often in the less than ideal type of weather. In my opinion, it's better to have the option of storing the energy. This is just my opinion.
