Attachai Fairtex’s unassuming nature and camera shyness belies an incredible story of a young kid who was thrust into a life in Muay Thai by family pressure, and rose to become one of the best fighters of his time.
Like many poor kids in the Thai countryside, Muay Thai was a mean to ease the family’s financial strain. Attachai never had the chance to think about what he wanted to do if he was not a fighter. Since 8 years old, he’s fought professionally - first in small village events, and over the years rose up the ranks in big Bangkok stadiums with huge side bets, and also representing Thailand internationally.
Attachai is known for his tricky ring craft and impeccable timing, often making his bigger opponents look flimsy and unbalanced. Watch his fights to see how he controls the ring.

A: “A question I asked Attachai that had him perplexed was, “What is your secret to becoming a champion?” If I can paraphrase his (exasperated😅) reply, it would be:
“..to put your head down and keep grinding. Whether you are winning or losing, there is always something to learn and improve on. Don’t think about the what ifs, don’t listen to what people are saying, don’t watch what they are doing. Sometimes too much of that can mess up your head, and distract you from your path. Just watch yourself and be mindful of your own progress.”
