You could also combine the two names and make it "The Cedar Hallow", don't know if that was already suggested.

With such a small space the swing of doors can shrink spaces. Did you consider the use of pocket doors for bathroom and bedroom. A third could be added to make the bathroom accessible from the bedroom. 12:48

This is such a cool project. We are designing a Scandi-inspired tiny cabin right now too and I'm interested to see how you tackle the hurdles we have been working through. I'd love to see you break down your plans for ventilation and airflow! We are going to attempt a zero-overhang roof with Monopoly style framing and air sealing. But ventilation and humidity management are things you don't see a lot of people talk about in tiny spaces like this, and it can get pretty complicated, (especially if you are putting emphasis on aesthetic, lol).

while i was watching the intro video to this project, “The Hollow Cedar” also came to mind. hollow = ‘having space inside’ by definition and it’s easier to identify the noun in the names: Bin and Cedar. 3rd DADU property get another fun noun. will it be close to the helicopter PAD by chance? ;)

Dope layout bro! When you were looking for the land, were you specifically looking for an area that allowed for more than 1 dwelling on the parcel? Or did it just happen to work out like that serendipitously? 🔥

Ok…. I have a left field suggestion… that has some pros and cons, but I thought worth suggesting. Move the bedroom door to the opposite end of the bedroom. Move access to the bathroom, to be via a pocket door in the bedroom. That means you can may be rearrange the bathroom to create a bit more space in the bedroom. You can move the tv to the bathroom wall, turn the sofa round to face the tv, may be add window where the TV currently is, and perhaps even have a couple of arm chairs where the TV currently is to make use of the view.

Love the idea of laying out interior walls w tape. So far I’ve only done exterior dimensions but I like the virtual 2d walkthrough! We just got started w power trench/ conduit and getting rock in for the driveway at @portlandiaframe. Well goes in next month! I can’t thank you enough for all of your transparency in your builds! It has really helped me learn the ropes of a new construction home project. I don’t know where you get the energy to record it all though!!! Take care Devon!

@@devonloerop that's great for now, but be aware if you sell you'll probably have to separate that well and septic. it can be a sketchy situation between neighbors otherwise and may prevent an easy sell of either of the properties. spoken from experience ;)

It was most likely a trash panda that punctured your jerrycan and ate your sunflower seeds. Those little masked buggers have a weird sense for biting stuff that stinks to high hell like gasoline and rubber tires where most animals would be repelled by that odour and stay clear of it.

Design Recommendations: (a) It is recommended to increase the width of the bedroom by a few feet to allow for easy movement around the bed. This way, occupants won't have to climb over each other to get in and out, which can become inconvenient and uncomfortable as one ages. Additionally, this adjustment will create a more harmonious and undisturbed experience for both partners. Is there space for a dresser in the bedroom or will that be in the closet or built-in cabinets? (b) Consider incorporating a barn or sliding door between the bedroom and bathroom areas to establish immediate access between the two rooms. This arrangement will give the tiny house a spa-like ambiance, promoting a sense of relaxation and luxury. Moreover, the added door will enhance privacy, especially when there are other visitors present in the tiny house.
@devonloerop
@devonloerop Жыл бұрын
Thanks for these recommendations. I unfortunately cant make the bedroom any bigger, I know it's a bit inconvenient getting in and out for one party but it's just I sacrifice I had to make building a tiny home. Not a bad idea about the barn door to bathroom though. :)

@@devonloerop can you turn the bed to have the head against the bathroom wall? then you can have room to have a night stand on both sides and walk around as well as be able to see out the windows while reading a book. I sleep on the left side and need a table for my cpap and a light so that space is important to me.
