The coverage is 2 times each of the largest dimesion of S x L. 2(6'-8") x 2(5'-3') = 13'-4" x 10'-6" = 140 sqft which is over 130 sqft!

Examine the layout. Consider the 27’ 2” wide by 67’ 4”long rectangle. Take a closer look at the most remote sprinkler head located at the northwest corner of the rectangle. The area of coverage of this sprinkler head extends 4’ 7” to the north and half of 9’ 0” to the south. Likewise its coverage extends 6’ 1” to the west and half of 11’ 0” to the east.

Where does NFPA 13 says Branch lines always run perpendicular to the bar joists or purlins and why?

Based on my experience it is better to run the branch lines perpendicular to joists to make it easier to support these branch pipes.

sir, why did you choose to use 1500 sq ft and 0.2 gpm/ sq ft? and not 3,087 sq ft by using interpolation?
