DS-1 could sound good with a good tube amp and proper settings, but yeah it was kinda empty and fizzy sounding and there were better ones like Proco RAT or SansAMP with more amp-like sound. The DS-1 was pretty good base for modding to remove it's flaws. Also the built quality of BOSS effects pedals was very good and they became a standard on stage. I remember times when even the shittiest guitar effects were really expensive. Now we can buy top notch studio quality sounding pedals even for $20 with die cast metal case and durable metal footswitch. Many of them are based on high-end pedals that are sounding very close to the originals. BTW, having a mouse that looks like a guitar stompbox is quite weird idea...

That last mouse (or very similar model) starred in the movie "Antitrust" from 2001 - I immidiatly recognized it! I must rewatch that movie in near future after 15 years or so to be completly sure, that it was exactly the same... Greetings from Poland!

This brought back a memory of modding Quake 3 Arena with the weapons from Star Trek Elite Force. Time to boot up and PLAY!

I’ve been watching you almost religiously for about 10 years. You are the coolest person on KZfaq If I had those mice I’d use them every day

Interesting oddware mice. That "little tikes" mouse brings back memories... I do remember servicing a couple of those Young Explorer setups many years ago, IIRC for a kindergarten. These have IBM ThinkCenter mini-towers inside them. That JamCam toy camera looks familiar ar well. I think I had one years ago, someone gave it to me for free. Interestingly, it supported serial as well as USB for transferring photos. Photo quality was non-existent, but that was to be expected for a toy.

Love the Boss mouse. Highly recommend incorporating some of their guitar pedals into your synth setup for some cool distortion or modular effects!

My older brother had the cozy coupe mouse back in the day. I never quite understood why or where it came from, but "because it's funny and surprisingly good" wouldn't surprise me. I do have many fond memories of playing games on his computer with it (RCT 1 or 2, AoE 1 or 2, and WC3 come to mind) and watching him play games (Fallout 2? Those memories are much more vague). I have it nowadays but sadly I dropped it and the yellow roof snapped off. I'm working up the courage to try to repair it or maybe 3D print a replacement. I wonder if anyone that has one intact could create molds for resin casting new parts. Hell, maybe I should take up that journey.

I thought this would be the perfect video to start off the new year and I was NOT disappointed. Thank you, Clint, for all you do!

"didn't think I'd have to use so much *Force* with a Star Trek mouse" 😂😂😂

Unsuspected Fallout loading was so strangely appropriate! Imagine having to repurpose a guitar pedal for a mouse in a post-apocalyptic setting :D
