The reason Denzel's character used honey on his wound because honey has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. It's used to promote rapid and improved healing.

The song that comes on over the store PA system in the hostage scene is "The Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips, which harks back to an earlier scene when he jokingly said he was one of the Pips.

This movie was mostly shot in East Boston, Everett and Chelsea MA. I'm from the neighborhood that McCall lives on and it's the same street where they also shot the movies "Blown Away" and "Mystic River". I'd pass on former but the latter is a must see. Great reaction and glad you enjoyed it! 😄👍

Such a fresh departure from the action, action, action genre. The Equalizer trilogy films are satisfying slow burners that have heart, great writing, great acting, story and one of the most interesting and DEADLY characters in cinema. He's a former DIA hitman/assassin not CIA. Great reaction!

The honey that he put on his wounds is because honey is a natural skin healer for people. I am a paraplegic and my nurse uses honey to heal my wounds from always having to sit because I am not able to stand or walk.

Love Denzel destroying the guys in the office at the start. He gives them every chance to prevent it but they double down on insulting him and the woman he's trying to help. The guy he explains his death to deserves it by any estimation. He offers him a way out which is more than most would. Good reaction, Abby is gorgeous.

Classic TV series becoming films or film franchises and actually being successful is a rarity. One is Mission:Impossible and the other is The Equalizer. One individual to even up the odds for the innocent. Bringing the pain to the bad guys that deserve it. I loved the classic tv series (1985-1989) since childhood with the late Golden Globe winner, Edward Woodward. It was revamped into a new original series with Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall/co-producer (since 2021, 3 seasons). To have this great actor/filmmaker collaboration make something like this is very rare. Denzel as McCall/co-producer and Antoine Fuqua directing didn't try to copy the show, beat for beat (except for the last shot). I saw it in the IMAX format and it became Denzel's highest grossing film ever until it's sequel outgrossed it, 4 years later.

This is one of my favorite movies. I've tried to get other people to watch it, but it just isn't a typical Denzel movie despite the fact that he is perfect in the role, the script is wonderful, and the motivation behind his actions are pure and important. He's not just going out and "hurting" random people, but if you mess with his friends or violate his moral code, you're done. The whole trilogy of Equalizers is incredible and truly shows character growth and development over time. There is no ambiguous jump forward or backwards, or even standing still. Time passes for Robert McCall between movies, just like it does for us.

I remembered you from seeing the Man On Fire reaction,and you already won me over there. So when i looked you up again and saw this reaction: Instant subscriber! I adore you ladies,such genuine,real and emotional reactions. You dare to be yourselfs and that won me over! Denzel sure has a thing for creating magic on screen with our newest talents in acting. And always in that encouraging,motivational and amazing way. My favourite follow up scene is when you first see Robert notices Terris bruised chin and asks how she got that. Terri: "someone stupid". Then we meet Robert again after he has settled some buisness with the ones that roughed her up,and he gets asked how he got the bruise on his knuckles: "I hit it on something stupid". He used her own words pretty much,wich proves how deep those 2 connected. How much she meant to him. Your reactions when he started calculating,then memorizing every possible weapon and bad guy placement in the room was both hilarious and super charming! Because its soo relatable (i dont handle certain things too well,myself....anything needles for example,count me OUT!) 28:38 It would fit Robert to put on Gladys Knight & The Pips wich he told the 2 younger employees that he was a part of when he was younger at the very beginning of the movie,when s**t is about to go down. 💃And as a comforting signal to the hostages and co-employees that "Im here to save the day!" This storyline and the acting is perfectionized down to the teeth. Few action movies has me as invested as with this The Equalizer franchise! 36:29 The money he offered for her freedom,he left behind so she could have a fresh start. This breaks me into tears every.......single......time! I need these 2 in ALOT more movies together,my gracious goodness the chemistry!!! 37:06 The cliffhanger for the very beginning of The Equalizer 2. I noticed you ladies have already done it,so you know who was calling for his help. It was a straight napkin moment from the very first minutes of the movie! I never thought they would make a better sequel to this movie,but they did. Antoine Fuqua & Denzel Washington = Dynamite!!

Robert McCall in this version is a former MARSOC (Marine Special Operations) turned ISA (that is like CIA Special Operators) who faked his death to leave that life behind to honor his wife's dying wish. When your body is stressed, it goes into flight or fight mode. high levels of cortisol and adrenaline are released into the blood stream causing you to perceive time as slowing down. This is really your brain processing sensory input faster. With the right training and experience you cannot just react faster but think in a controlled manner. This is what the camera is trying to explain quickly. Honey has antimicrobial healing properties and has been used for thousands of years for healing.

It's essentially the same thing as a schoolyard bully intimidating a kid into giving them their lunch money. With small businesses, sometimes it's called a "protection scam" because the crooks pretend that the small-business owner is paying them to protect their business, when in reality all the crooks are protecting the business from is the crooks themselves.

Denzel is, always has been, and always will be the GOAT in my opinion. Try the movie from 1998 called “Fallen” with Denzel. It’s absolutely incredible.

Consider having a look at the original tv series. It ran from 1985 to 1989. When I look at it today, it sure has aged, but it’s still awesome.

A channel about reactin to movies........that you can't watch. 😄 Honey is a natural antibiotic. He boiled it enough to remove any impurities. The nail gun at the end is used to shoot nails into block and concrete with a .22 Short blank cartridge as the propellant. Effective.
